Cool Tire rack for 33 1/2" tire??

My husband upgraded to larger tires and needs to buy a spare. Since he purchased 33 1/2 " tires what type of mount does he need for the back of his car. We assume that his old tire rack isn't going to hold the heavier tire.

Thanx

I have the same size tires and the stock tire carrier is fine, although extended studs were needed because the tire 'sticks out' more than stock tires and the stock studs wouldnt reach out far enough. Does that make sense?

Good assumption! The stock tire holder will work for awhile depending on how you drive the jeep, it may require an adapter to fit depending on the backspacing of the wheels. This however is not a good long term solution and will eventually lead to damaging the tail gate or the tire mount cracking, etc....

There are a lot of different spare tire mounting solutions out there. Most involve installing a new bumper with a "swing away" carrier. Prices run from the low $300 up to a grand, depending on the brand and options. I chose the OR Fab because it attaches to the rear roll bar mounts and not the bumper. I'd suggest you shop around and find something you like the looks of. Try quadratec.com or 4wd.com/ and see what they have to offer.

Mine looks like this:
