Tire Rotation Pattern

What's the best tire rotation when including the spare? Or is it better to keep the best one of my current tires as the spare? I am going to be buying my first new set of tires and I want them to last. Thanks.

If you're buying 5 new tires, it's best to rotate all five tires to keep them all equally worn.

Here's a good rotation pattern... and pay no attention to anything you might read that says you can't switch sides on radial tires, that hasn't been true in over 20 years.

This is not the only acceptable rotation pattern but it works well for a RWD vehicle.

LF-LR
RF-RR
LR-spare
Spare-RF
RR-LF

Sorry if this seems repetitive but just want to be sure.
I can switch tires sides (rim and tire together) without issue with Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's. Thanks.

As long as the tires aren't directional you are fine. MTZs aren't.
