tire size?

what is the biggest tire size i can fit on my 2.5" lift.

2003 Jeep Wrangler x with 2.5"RC and 31"duratrac wrangler tires

Typically a 32" tire if you disco and offroad.

you can fit the biggest tire which clears at full steering lock, full flex & full bump. that's all going to depend on your bumpstop extensions, whether you have a BL or not, tire width & rim dimensions, if you're willing to cut/modify the fenders, hood, body or flares, and your compressed/extended shock lengths.

so the answer may range anywhere from 31" to 35", depending on your final configuration.

Depends on what you do with your Jeep. If you only drive it on the street, some people can get away with running 33's though not recommended as they will rub. If you want to do some off road driving and flexing the suspension then 31 inch tires would be great. Also depends on what wheel you are running and the offset. 31 inch tires may rub at full turn but that can be corrected with the steering stops. Lot's of info on this forum regarding tire sizes, etc.

How good are you with a sawzall/angle grinder?

I like my 31s. Beefy, but leaves good flex room. No worries about gearing or power loss either.

A buddy of mine has 33's on a 2.5 inch lift. They don't have much room to flex but I haven't heard him complaining about rubbing.

I've got 33s on a 2.5" OME lift. Right now I'm not having any problems. I don't do any rock crawling, mostly sandy, muddy trails and hill climbing. I'll be putting a 1 - 1.5"
body lift come spring time though.
