Tire size what to do help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys i've been on here a couple of times asking about tires and help. I've got a 01 fourbanger. I've got 31/10.50 on it now and it rides really good until fifth where it gets alittle sluggish up a hill. my question is i really want 33's but have found out that if i do i need to regear. Can i put 32's on it and not have to regear?? If so what width would you recommend. I don't know what to do i want bigger tires but don't want to regear unless i have to. I already know i should have got the 4.0 but i'm giving it all the fourbanger got just don't call it cute haha. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if your already struggling with 31's then don't expect it to get any better. sure you can run 32's without regearin but it won't be pleasant.

I run 33's without re-gear in a 4 banger auto 3.73 gears. To get over 63 usually makes it downshift into 2nd, but thats ok.

Even some 4.0's need a regear for 33's. I lost noticeable power in 5th going up hills with my 4.0 + 3.73 when going from 31 to 33.

Obviously you will loose some power, for me it wasn't enough to put out the cash for a re-gear right now.

yeah, you will notice a power loss even going to 32's, but if you have a manual you can always downshift for the hills

why buy tires twice? Buy what you want and re-gear as you can afford.

D, regear the rear, your going to loose more power if you go with a bigger tire setup. everyone on this thread has already told you this. what else do you want to know? you can go 32's, 33's, hell even 37's jif you really want but you need to do the upgrades that are required otherwise your going to break shit, waste more money, and your jeep is gonna run like crap, so you can take the advice that people are giving you or you can continue to ask the same question over and over again... BTW welcome to the forum and hope I didn't scare you off with my rant.

haha, i think that you may be lugging the engine anyways, i ahve 35's and a 4.0 and i can go up hills in fifth pretty easily, i keep my RPM's at 2,000 and when i go up a steep hill i have to mash the gas to the floor, but it stays right at 2,000 the whole time

go with 33's and just watch what RPM's your at to start with at the hill, and also if you nedd to downshift whats the big problem?

not really, but the exhaust makes a really cool sound!
i also like to piss of the neighbors, haha, i live at the bottom of a huge 1/2 mile long hill, the speed limit is thirty, so i put it in second and the engine brakes at about 3K rpm and it is REALLY REALLY REALLY loud, no brakes for the whole hill haha
