Tire size? Why no sticky?

Hi guys newb here..

Why is their not a sticky about what size tires you can run on stock and lifted TJs??

What is the largest tire that the 4.0 stock suspension can run.
And what if not the largest is the most common "BEST" size.

Oh and how about high cut fender flair kits?

What is available to run larger tires ?
And what size can you run with them.

31x9.50x15 slight rub with stock lift.
32x11.5x15 will rub on the steering and also if you wheel it.

So basically you are limited to 30's. If you want to change rims then you can fit 32's with no rub. Unless your wheeling the 32's will eat your fenders.

Do you want to off road it? IF your answer is yes then stick to 30x10.5x15 or 31x10.5x15.

This would be a good sticky idea i think...tire size in relation to lift size. Also i think conversions would be good too...as far as how big is a 305 tire in inches? Those sizes always tend to confuse me

The Jeep 4x4 Performance handbook found in the back of many jeep catalogs explains this in great detail with many options. Basically your maximum tire size for stock suspension is 31 x 10.5 which I have in BF Goodrich. Works and looks great. Jump up to a 32 x 11.5 and you need a minimum 2.0" suspension lift. If you're talking up to 33 x 12.5 you need a minimum of 3" suspension and 1" body lift. Also be aware that actual measurements of tires may differ than stated measurements by a couple inches. But with the guide lines above, you should be all right.

Perfect Tires

Hey,

I just put 33" Yokohama Geolander AT's on my TJ Sport. The impressive part of the tires is that they fit without the 2.5" lift I put on later that week. Now, having said that they did rub, but hey, it allowed me to pick out the perfect lift after feeling out the character of the tires for a couple of days. I'm glad I squeezed the tires under first. Here in Montana, we have so many dirt/gravel roads a large lift and wide tires were out of the question, esp when you need to cover 50 miles of gravel in a hurry before hitting forest service land, and even then clearing the trail is more important than climbing boulders. So for me, this new system works perfectly. I could not be happier with my tires and lift. They are perfect for what I use my jeep for.

P.S. my tires before were 32" TOYO OC's and they were perfect with my stock suspension. They lasted for a good 30K!

io sul mio tj ho le 33-12.50-15 con un kit di rialzo da 4" e mi trovo molto bene sia in strada sia in off road ciao

j on mj tj have the 33-12.50-15 with a kit suspension life 4" and for my is very good on road and very good in off road ciao

So is this the norm? I will be keepin the stock wheels. Any other opinions on sticking 33x10.5s on with only 2" spacers? I do plan on wheeling this vehicle occasionally.

Are u recommending this to me or asking for yourself? I would never do a 2" body lift, looks like shit imo and raises center of gravity for little to no gain in offroad capabilities. This is still my wifes DD so im keeping it mild for now. Hopefully we can afford to get her an S4 or 335i in the next year and I can make the Jeep more of a trail truck. I really want to build some custom bumpers, fenders, rock sliders, swaybar disconnects, stuff 35s and go break the axles so i have an excuse to get D60s. ahhh one day...
