Tired of fighting your dome light?

I don't know about you guys, but today I got tired of pulling out the dome light plungers when I remove my doors. So I go a toggle switch an online fuse and some wire. Literally 1.00 worth of stuff I had laying around. I bypassed the fuse in the fuse panel and mounted it under the dash. Now when I take off the doors I just flip the switch. Took about 30 min. For free I have the exact same thing my cuz ordered from quadratec for 30.00! Go me!

I saw that bypass somewhere else. Much better than pulling the fuse. I gotta track down a short before I do that. Mine come on whenever the heck they feel like it, even when the fuse is pulled.

Make sure the wire leading to the fuse/switch is well insulated. A short anywhere before the relocated fuse is no longer protected.

I like the tech, low cost solution, but my spouse bought me the spring loaded clips. They work and I like that my wife bought something for my jeep...

I just keep the fuse out permanently. You can still twist the light plunger and turn them on if necessary and it didn't cost me a penny or a second of time for that mod!

I'm the loser with the metal clips. Tacked them on to some quad order. Pulling the fuse is fine unless you forget to turn your lights off

x2. I've drained the battery a few times already since I leave for work when it's dark out and arrive when the sun is up. I need to figure out a way to hook them up to a relay.

That's pretty cool. I might do this just because I have an odd addiction to switches. I'll do random things just so I can't put another switch on my dash somewhere.

It would be just a waste of a switch. Jeep solved this probem already for you. After about 20 minutes the Jeep turns your dome light off. Thinking the owner left the light on by mistake

I have a switch on the drivers door switch so I can have the door open and turn the buzzer off. When I pull the doors, I pull the fuse.

Great idea.

But, my fuse #4 is also still sitting in the tray by the TC shifter. Been there for a couple years. It's pretty dirty. I may have to wash it.

Just pay the $30 when you have an order with quadratec next... its $30 people... goes in in about 5 minutes and works great. no worries either. Looks factory and complete to. Not just a wire running here with a toggle somewhere else.

Yeah this is the solution I usually use. But I do love switches...
