I don't understand what you mean by "main dash".... can you point it out in a photo or something?

I actually hit it with several coats of clear and solved that problem.. Now I have a new one..... I took this piece off and there are absolutely no holes for it to screw in to.. I think I'm just going crazy after hours of disassembling and painting parts.. Here's the piece I can't get in

Yea looks like you are missing a metal piece that spans almost that entire opening under the steering wheel. then your plastic piece will mount to that.

Yup, your going crazy from spending all that time with it. Lol. Grab a cold one, take a break, then put the metal piece on. Then that plastic piece will fit like a glove I bet!

You shouldn't have to disassemble it's a fairly large piece of metal about the size of that panel that covers the area

I used Krylon, but find that the color match from your parts store would have matched up better. Seats are faded, Jeep is too, so 100% match is not possible.

Has anyone here put any kind of sealer on top of the color?

I don't know if this is considered a sealer, but I sprayed my yesterday with krylon fusion satin black. After that I used krylon fusion satin clear. That definitely kept it from scratching off so easy

Pop out the plastic piece for the defroster vent there's 2 screws under there and another behind the ash tray then it should just pop out and there's a thread out there on how to remove the air bag cover/oh s**t handle but I'm not positive what it's called

The black and purple works better than I had thought it would, nice work! As for the main dash portion, I just taped off the surrounding areas and painted it while it is still in the Jeep.

OK, so we know what kind of seats you guys DONT like, how bout a recommendation? I'm rocking the original spice vinyl, and if you want to experience about a hot seat, just come sit on mine with the top off. I'm needing a seat cover to protect the vinyl and my backside, but not sure which way to go!

I looked, but it says synthetic leather? Do they not get screaming hot in the summer, like leather. That's a HUGE part of why I am wanting to cover mine up...

EDIT: I'm in the south, and keep it topless most of the summer. Right now I have to keep a beach towel in there so I don't burn myself on my seats.

He has said before they manage to not heat up because the material isn't actually leather so it's weird.

Yea the IGGEE seat covers get warm but not as hot as some of my old real leather seats. Im in south florida and I constantly have the doors off and safari top on but they still get alot of sun. And I have no issues with sitting right down and going where I need to go. It is possible that mine dont get as hot cause the middle is yellow but even the black edges dont seem to get as hot as I remember my old black and grey vinyl plastic stock seats.

Im guessing you have the same material as I had:

If so then you will be happy with the IGGEE ones, they are Simulated leather cause real leather isnt waterproof and is most certainly not scratch resistant. This is my DD and I take my kids to school and the dog likes to ride along sometimes. He sits in the front seat, his nails are long, and he is about 65lbs, so not a small dog lol. I have never worried about him ripping the seat covers and dirt comes off easily with a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

This was taken a couple weeks ago and the seats look perfect, couldnt ask for a better product IMHO:
