I posted pics of my install here:

Did it with my son in about an hour front and rear.

Yeah, full doors. About 7 or 8 inches from the front of the panel. I'm afaid straight bondo or similar would just fall apart as the crack expanded and contracted.

I finally got around to snapping some pictures of mine. I kept it subtle.

So, all you guys who are painting your interiors, how are they holding up so far? I did mine last year with Duplicolor vinyl and fabric and I just had to do my 3rd touchup on the door panels. They'll be ok for a week or so, then start chipping a little. Once that starts, it's not very long before big flakes start coming off. I cleaned the panels with acetone before I did them the first time, but I didn't scuff them.

I did mine in October 2011 with krylon fusion and only have a few small issues where it is coming off, although those spots are completely my fault and not faulty paint.

So what i did to make it stick... Bedline all of the dash, then paint it with satin duplicolor paint. Wont chip, crack, scratch or peel and looks sexual

Did mine about a month ago, the black is bumper coating, the red is fusion with dupli color on top. They are holding up great! A few small scratches, but I caused them.

Nice job man!
Just wondering.. Did you paint the dash black or leave it stock?
I'm debating wether its worth it to paint the left over gray pieces black or not...

The only part of the dash I painted was the vent toward the windshield.(dupli-color bumper coating) The rest I just left alone to break it up a little....

I REALLY like the orange! That is the Jeep I set out to get but if I had come home with an orange Jeep I would have had to sleep in it too lol. The wifey doesnt like orange vehicles so I got the next best color. Looking at your Jeep makes me sad I bedlined my interior, I like the extra color that it adds on the floor. Next thing I would do on that Jeep is get those pad covers off to add more orange, but thats just me lol.

This is also how I did mine. There are two 10mm bolts about halfway up it on either side that you have to remove. You'll need a ratcheting box end wrench to get in there. Search "dash pad" and you should find a write up on it.

You don't have to, and you can use whatever you want really, but no guarantee on quality. I used acetone and fusion and so far so good, still have a ways to go. If you skip on the prep or use the wrong style material it might not hold and probablyw on't look as good.

Yea I wouldnt skip any steps, the longevity of the paint depends on the prep work done. The reason you are using acetone is because it guarantees that you have removed any oily substance from the dash. Also the reason we use Krylon Fusion is because it fuses with plastics and is mildly flexible. with the way your dash will expand and contract with the heat its likely that other paints will crack and chip alot faster. Plus the fusion is made for this material, other paints wont stick to most plastics. So in the end I would say to stick with what works and you wont be sorry.

I'm wondering... What's the difference between the krylon fusion and something like duplicolor bumper paint. They're both plastic paints. Could the duplicolor be used on the interior, or the krylon on the fender flares?
