Seen it, but never tried it. If you do use it let us know how it works.

I originally wanted those tires for my Jeep, but the guy at Goodyear made me an offer than I couldn't refuse.

Yeah, no issue with it. The thing is heavy. Feels like some sort of resin.
I picked it up at Walmart on clearance for $4. It seemed to go with the zombie stickers.

Yes. You are correct. Acetone will indeed eat certain plastics. This is why I tested it on the back side of the panel first.

If you apply the acetone to a cloth and wipe it across the plastic panel it does no harm. I would not however leave it sitting on the plastic, but acetone evaporates very quickly.

The reason I used acetone in the first place was because I already had some. We use it in the R/C car hobby a lot for de-chroming rims, separating glued on tires, cleaning paint off of lexan bodies etc.

I don't think it will do any harm to the Jeep interior panels unless you soak them in it for long periods of time. If it is by chance removing any plastic from the panels it is a very fine micro layer of it which is probably dead ans oxidized. lol
If you have something else to use, by all means use it. Alcohol should work just fine. Simple Green, I find that it leaves a kind of slippery film that is hard to get off. Using Simple Green is fine, but still wipe it down with something like acetone or alcohol before applying paint.

I really got these for a steal. I sold my 33's for about 400 and they were free to me. So I really only have about 600 dollars in the generals

Ok these two picture are to answer a previous question, sorry, cant remember who asked. This is this price I was talking about that was painted with the dupli color bumper coating. Its not a gloss but its not a flat either. Would pull the jeep out into the light but my tranny is out of commission!

Best price I could find while shopping was $215 ea. The guy at Goodyear offered me Duratrac's for $180 ea. For five tires the difference paid for half of the cost of my rims.

But those red letters would have looked cooled on Georgette.

You may want to let that dry for a day or two before you put tape on the red, and it might even be a good idea to use that painters tape that releases easier than the plain masking tape. Otherwise you may pull some paint off with the tape.
Not sure, I only did one color. Lilyeller did two colors so he may be able to give some more input.

Otherwise.... can't wait to see it finished.

lol, true. You could have just sprayed the rd and then topped it with the black.

It may actually hold better when you pull the tape off if you do it that way.

Yeah, the red may be less likely to peel off when you remove the tape after painting the black if it fades out under the black instead of being cut off at a line right there.

Pull the tape off, paint your red, let it dry then mask and do the black.

Dont judge me...
He asked me if I could make it match the Jeep, I said HELLZ YEA!

As for the second color, wait for a while (couple hours) and use the blue painters tape, dont let it stay on for very long or it will pull some of the paint off with it. As it did on mine.

Use Frog Tape to get a really crisp line. Stuff works like a dream! You can get it at Wal-Mart.

tape it off. Im not very patient so I did what was faster lol. I have read up on how to go about removing the whole deal and I decided for my purposes I needed it completed in 1 day and dash back together. That just wasnt going to happen if I took the whole thing out.

The sides near the door openings, the top near the windshield, the plastic over the guage cluster, and steering wheel handle, thats about it I think. The rest was just open holes since I removed everything else.

The doors, speaker covers, under the steering wheel, glove box, ratio surround, and gauge surround are all very simple to remove. The rest looks like it may be a pain, but with my OCD and the fact my jeep is broke down, I think I'm going to remove it all.

Seats aren't that hard. Few bolts up front the lift up, pull a lever to let the seat fold forward more and two more bolts.
