Say, why does everyone use black? It's getting boring. Two tone is great but why not look at a color wheel and use two colors one of which ISN'T black.

Richard's seats are the stock ones if that's who you were talking about. (I think anyways)

I'm thinking of doing this to mine. Black/Orange will be the what I'm doing! How long does it take for all the stuff to dry?

I would let it set up for at least an hour or so before handling. Bout 15-20 mins between coats during painting.

Actually I have been wanting to get some seat covers does anyone know a good inexpensive brand to go with that fit tight? And definitely black.

I did prob 4 or five. Cant reply remember. And like I was told, do many very, very thin coats. Very thin! Or it will run bad. I had to paint both black and red. My interior was spice. So if its the same for you, do the one color and let it sit over night to make sure the tape doesn't pull the paint. And that frog tape that someone talked about before is what I used. Worked like a charm! Good luck and keep us updated with the project!

I do as well. But, how many yellow jeeps has anyone seen with a different interior than black? I'd love to see one.

Subscribed btw.

For those of you who are interested in painting your roll bar covers or soundbar cover, or anything neoprene. I just used this stuff that I got from a local auto body supply shop, its great.

I just painted my hi-lift neoprene cover and this stuff is like dye, I can pull and tug on the cover and it doesnt break or separate like a paint would. Next test is to see how long it lasts.

Sorry to the folks that read this in the cheap easy mods thread but its important here also lol

I used it alot when I had the auto reconditioning business but havent found a place near here to get it until recently. its not cheap and it only comes in certain colors. But this color is a flat black and it matches what I wanted my covers to look like perfectly, I can take a pic of the hi-lift cover tomorrow when its light out.

I need to break down and redo mine with that. I used Duplicolor and I've had to touch it up a couple times already and it could use touching up again. It scratches off fairly easy.

Mines not bad. It's been about two weeks or so. Glove box has gotten some scuffs on it. Probably only noticeable to me. But they probably will come out if I used a wipe or something

mr. clean magic eraser cleans the scuffs off my yellow. I dont rub very hard cause that shiz is powerful. I have had mine painted for about 8 months and its holding up nicely, theres a few chips near where my kids close the door but they are harsh on it, and thats only after 8 months of constant daily abuse, and its nothing I cant repair easily enough.

Its gotta be both in the prep AND in the paint itself. On my 99, I bought used steel doors and the door liners did not match my Jeep. There was one small crack in the drivers door frame, so I took it to a body shop and had it welded & repainted -- and thought to ask them about painting the door liners, thought it would be cheaper than buying new ones. They painted them black for me. The first paint scratch right through to the underlying spice was the first time I got out and my foot rubbed the bottom of the door panel.

Interior is still holding up great!. ( just a little tip though use your left over paint and a q-tip to dab on any chips you might get)

Well along the interior changing lines I also removed all my ugly purple roll bar covers and tan carpet. I think the white looks sweet

I was thinking about taking them off but don't want my extinguisher and random other mounted things rubbing the paint away and potentially rusting. :/

if it does rust then it will be minimal. Some strategically placed electrical tape, velcro, or tip ties would solve that problem also, just need something to sit where the metal touches metal.

These look great. Hard to believe what so many people do with a rattle can. I have never had much luck but this stuff shows how important prep and patience are.
