tires and axles

i've seen people mentioning how their axles snap because of a larger set of tires. right now everything is pretty much stock, but looking into getting 32's or maybe something crazy like 33's with a 2inch suspension and 1 inch body. now am i just being paranoid or is this something i should worry about.

I am stock, and try my best not to snap under pressure........oh, I'm sorry, you were talking about axles.

lol.........that is ok. A lot of people make this slight error in spelling, and if my name wasn't Axel, I guess I would never notice. A friend of mine runs 35" tires with the D35 and D30, and has done so for years. This past summer, he finally snapped his right rear axle. He does have a Deep V Klune under drive, that really lets him wheel with absolute control, and is very careful in his wheeling. But under the right circumstances, all his care, and gearing, finally still broke an axle. It is really a time bomb, that is the best way to explain it. Some people have snapped the D35 in a parking lot. I would at least wheel it till it broke, and then maybe upgrade to a D44, or 8.8, 0r 9. It is all up to you, and the amount of finaces you have.

i've seen full axles for sale for a couple grand and they say you can bolt them right in. i know it's harder then that, but how much of a pain is it. i enjoy looking towards the future and seeing how much sh*t i'll be sitting in.

I built a YJ with some serious axles, and had it all done, by a local shop. I am not sure how hard it is to do by yourself. I get very overwhelmed, with mechanical stuff.

^ if its a "direct replacmet" axle, or one that can just be put it witout other mods, than it shoulding bee too hard. You just have to get your rig high enough in the air so that your tires are bairly touching the ground. Otherwise your goinna have to hassle with springs still under pressure and a few other minor issues. But other than that, it shouldn't be too hard.
