Tires for 97 wrangler

I have a stock 97 wrangler tj with 235/75/15 cooper discoverer A/T tires on 15x8 gambler rims
No lift or anything like that
I plan on gettin another set of rims with some offroad tires on it (so I can just swap out wheels when I wanna get muddy) but need some more experienced input
What size rim and tire should I consider?
I keep hearing I can fit 31x10.5x15 on 15x8 rims without a lift and it wont rub.....true???
I want some mud terrain T/A KM2 tires so if anyone has used them please give your input
Any advice about my questions is welcome

31's will fit with no lift and they will even fit on your gamblers the only thing you might have to do is adjust the steering stop.
Now by "not rub" if you mean when you're off road they will rub your fender flares.

Ok what would you suggest?
Maybe get a spare set of fender flares or just take them off?

I just put a set of km2's on my jeep last week and im extremely impressed with them. Smooth and quiet onroad and fantastic offroad. They'll be louder than your at's, but for a mud tire they're very civil on the pavement.

You probably won't tear the fender flares up you'll just rub them a little, I wouldn't take the flares off personally I don't like looks without the flares
And here's the write up on the steering stop adjustment it's really easy http://www.4x4xplor.com/steerstop.html

You can even trim the flares to get a little bit more clearance
search trimming fender flares
Lots of folks have done it
