Cool Tires for lift kit

What size tires can I increase in size while keeping my current rims 15"x8.0". I'm looking at a 2.5-3" lift kit and don't want the expense of new rims. The tire size on my 2004 Wrangler is 30"x9.5". Any input would be greatly appreciated

33x12.50 will fit on an 8" rim with the lift kit your considering

You can run up to a 12.5" inch width without issues. You may need to run a spacer, depending on present backspacing, for any diameter 33" or taller to regain full lock to lock steering.

I'm guessing he wants to keep his stockers, which have too much bs to fit a 12.5" tire.

OP, you'll need spacers if this is the case. Or new wheels with less bs. 4.5" or less to be specific. Spacers will cost nearly what a new set of wheels run, and throw another item can potentially fail into the mix. This is why most of us opt for new wheels.....

Exactly. Not to mention you can always sell the stock rims and tires to recover some of the cost of the new rims and tires.
