Tires vs. Lift kit

I have a 1998 jeep wrangler with 31 by 10.5 tires with no lift. If I put a 3 or 4 inch lift on it will I need to get bigger tires?

You do not NEED to. A lift enables you to properly fit larger tires. 3-4 inches with 31's can start to look akward.
