TJ 5.3 4l60e engine and trans swap kits

I'm looking for some input on who makes the best adapters for motor mounts, trans output shaft to jeep np231 and of course the bigger radiator. I've been looking at advance adapters and novak-adapt. Does anybody have any experience with either of them for fitment issues and quality? Just need some input before I decide on what I'm gonna do.

Both Novak and AA are great! I'd love to have a 5.3 in my TJ some day.... what did you pay for yours if I may ask?

NICE! I don't think a V8 swap is needed until some 1ton's are under my heep, but I'm sure it will be fun!

Very nice.Looks like it is going to fit like it was made for it.The radiator looks to stick up a bit but it is a monster. What have you had to do as far as wiring?Like what has to be spliced to get all the factory guages and ignition switch to work.I understand all the wiring from for the engine and computer were going to be plug and play but all the interior components have to be hard wired into that harness right?I want to do mine one day and the swap does not bother me in the least it is the wiring that intimidates me a little.

I'm gonna be doing all autometer gauges in a custom cluster, since i'm not going to be running the jeeps pcm. The wiring isn't as bad as it looks. As long as you do one circuit at a time the wiring spaghetti mess actually becomes very simple. i just tapped into the jeep power distribution center for all the battery power wires and key on power. As long as you have wiring diagrams and some patience its not too bad at all. LT1 Swap was a very useful website i found, along with Alldata.

Very nice job, looks great, I plan on doing a V8 swap on my 01 TJ soonish. Looks like you got a great deal on the motor/trans/harness.

What did you end up going with for your mounts AA or Novak?

If you have any parts lists of what you used and how they worked out or prices of any of it or any modifications you had to make it would be great.

I put a carburated 350 into a 4x4 S15 7 or 8 years ago and I used all Advanced Adapters and everything was very easy. I'm going to use a late model V8 like you did on the TJ. I think Novak will splice your 5.3 harness into the TJ harness so you can use your stock gauges. What made you bypass the TJ harness all together?

Any info you can give at all would be very helpful.

I like that Fiji blue you used, great looking Jeep.

Looks AWESOME!

Once mine is no longer the dedicated DD, it's going under the knife.

I know a lot of people on this forum are itching for a V8 with an overdrive trans in there TJ. Mine is my winter DD and 1/3 DD in the summer so my swap could come as early as this spring.

I know there's a few people on here that have done TJ motor swaps, I would really like to see everyone put together 1 build thread with all motor swaps so we can figure out the very best way to do this and find the best places to get parts. We might even be able to get some group buys or group discounts from AA or Novak.

I am wondering this also.I see most of them on web sites and ebay with the Hemi swap and other Mopar swaps with the factory dash bezel and guages still functional.I would think the same would apply to GM.I think making it all appear stock would be the way I would want to go.I watched a Jeep and a camaro side by side at a light and the camaro kept reving the engine and the guy in the jeep just sit there until the light changed and then smashed it.The jeep blew the doors off of the camaro. They did that at two lights then those two along with 3 other people that were behind them pulled over at a gas station on like the 4 th light.Come to find out the Jeep did have a Hemi and the camaro was just a V6.

I ended up using Novaks engine motor mount kit, which worked very well for custom positioning of the engine. I also used AA trans to transfer case adapter, the one that changes the input gear in the transfer case to 27 spline, it was the same price as the kit with the 4l60e output shaft, but a lot less work, since you only have to take apart the transfer case rather than rebuild the trans. I'm also using AA TJ Standalone transfer case shifter bracket to keep the OE shifter in place. I decided to go Autometer gauges because i like the look of a custom gauge panel, which I still am in the process of doing. When i'm finally done with the swap and done spending money on it I'll post all prices i paid so you guys have a better idea of a budget this swap takes.
