TJ Aerodynamics.

Please post ways to improve Wranglers aerodynamics.

I'll get it started..
Green is metal bars, blue is clear Plexiglas and red is also clear Plexiglas that may be trimmed to allow more air to pass through. Maybe some more Plexiglas to cover the fender flares too.

Just make it out of a durable rubber instead of plexi. Then you can put a weather radar behind it, and launch it into space

The only way I could think to make a jeep more aerodynamic is to sell it and buy a Super Bird...

I'm new to Jeeps, but isn't putting 'Wrangler' and 'aerodynamics' in the same sentence kind of like 'military intelligence' or 'floating brick' in the same sentence?

i think that if you want to do it go ahead, but im not sure how much thats really gonna help, as someone said the winshield is straight up and down, and remember the back is just as important as the front, the rear of a jeep alos it just a straight line, this means it sucks air in behind

to really get better mpg you owuld need to adress the back, the winshield, and also the undercarriage, most cars have plastic that goes the whole lengths of the undercarriage to keep air from pocketing and swirling aroung underneath

but you can try it and see fi it helps, whats it gonna hurt, just a few bucks on plexiglass

Hey Try a 1981 Chevy K-5 Blazer Talk about a refrigerator on wheels with a tail wind i used to get like 9mpg. I was so happy to get 17-19 with my wrangler i thought i was driving a toyota corolla again. Hell my corolla only got 22 and could not go offroad so stop whining about gas milage.

It's a Jeep Thing.......And i finally understand

1991 Bronco...9 MPG. When I was in high school i made about $160 /week working at Kroger. I spent half of that in the tank.

I know putting a Winch on in the front already restricts air flow to the radiator. Now this solutions wants to push all the air out. I don't think this is a good idea. You asked originally for aerodynamics suggestions. Why would you want to accomlish this on a Jeep. To me it makes no sence. Actually I think I'm now dumber for thinking about it.

As soon as i get a RRC Bumper i'll do it.. the green pipes dont have to be big.. just enough to hold the plexiglass together.

As swapping bodys goes I like that better...
