Tj build

I am in the process of a TJ build up for my 15 year old son, I will be building a true cage in the near future, however my question now is we need to replace both front fenders and we think smittybuilt tube bumpers fit the bill.does anyone have any complaints with running a set of these for on/off road use? we have already done a 4 inch lift with 33's and "good" bumpers, a set of sliders with steps. Im trying to apporoach this project from the off road capable but saftey first angle.

I don't have the smittybuilt tube fenders on my rig, but I've seen some pictures on here and of jeeps with really rusty tube fenders. People were complaining about the paint coming off. Other than the paint issue I hear they are not too bad to install (in terms of cutting the original fenders, etc). So maybe you just need to repaint/powdercoat them before installation... another solution for nice tube fenders is poison spyder customs. Their stuff is expensive but very nice quality. And they offer tube fenders with varying flare sizes, so you can cover almost any size tires.

every time I look at my Jeep I love it more and more

yep paint is a big issue with those. If you get them. I suggest stripping them to bare metal and painting them yourself.

would you guys recommend a flair to try and keep some stuff off the windshield?
repainting is on the list for the whole project.

I've seen a few nasty pics of the smittybilt tube fenders but if you sand them down and repaint you shoudn't have any issues. I still want some for my jeep I think they look sick their just a little outside of my budget at the moment.
