Green looks great!!

Here is the list I came up with from previous posts for my '04. I ordered all from superbrightleds.com

5 - 74-xHP (74 LED Bulb - 1 SMD LED Wedge Base) for Gauge Cluster

6 - NEO4-x (NEOx LED Bulb - Instrument Panel LED) 3 for HVAC controls and 3 for switches under HVAC (Hardtop Wiper, Defroster, and O/D Off)

2 - 4410-x9 (578 LED Bulb - 9 LED Festoon) for dome lights in speaker pods

2 - 921-x12 (921 LED Bulb - 12 Wide Angle LED Mini Wedge Base) for courtesy lights under dash that light the floor when doors are open

1 - WLED-x5 (194 LED Bulb - 5 LED Wide Angle Wedge Base) for automatic shifter. Requires some widening of the stock opening

x=color, for me it was G for green

Super easy mod to do...took about an hour to do all of them.

Ok, so I have looked through this forum and didn't really see anything that answers the question of dimming the lights. I know I saw some posts about people who left like 1 original bulb in their dash and the dimmer worked, but why can't you put a load in between the dimmer and the lights? If that's all the problem is. If so, could one use one of these:

1999 Jeep Wrangler Installation Accessories LED Replacement Bulbs | LED Lights for Cars | 12v | Super Bright LEDs

and put it in line with the dimmer switch and lights to allow for the dimming? any suggestions?

Ok, so just to clarify, if I remove my cluster, my mileage will not be reset on the cluster, correct? (sorry, I know it's kinda a dumb question again, but you know...)

No, your mileage will be fine. I've had my cluster out five or six times doing various things and the odometer never changed.

Putting a resistor inline should allow the dimmer switch to keep working. It may not dim as much however, or it may dim more. Depending on the resistor used.

I just saw where everyone was taking it off for colors on different spectrums, like blue and green and white. Like you said, doesn't seem like it'll change it much, but figured id ask.

I saw somebody post that with red LED's his orange needles looked purple. I guess I will find out soon and confirm this once I order mine. First I gotta spend some money to fix an O2 sensor problem though.

With blue leds they are purple and they are going to be very dim. I could barely see mine so i did the needles white. Now they are bright blue.

I know that someone else posted a dash face replacement plate on here, anyone else seen any of those online that are easy to install? I don't know if I like the idea of taking the needles off and attempting to put them back.

BTW, anyone know how to adjust the speedo correctly? The PO put some oversized tires on the Jeep and didn't bother to do any other adjustments like fixing the speedo. I was doing about 55 and my wife following me in her car said I was only going about 47 or 48. Don't really feel like being raped by taking it to a garage to have them do it. Thanks!

Forget the Glow face gauges. (you can get them on ebay). I went through a couple of them. You can put them on with the needles in place and it takes some manuvering but the constat problem I had was the face not staying flat and the needles getting hung up. It takes VERY little friction for them to hang up. (Note most/all of the faces are for 97-02. 03+ check engine light changed. I had to do some creative mods to make it fit on my 03) I finally got rid of it and did the leds. Also I have a metal bezel (ebay) to break up the gauges.

The individual white gauges I guess are ok. A number of people have had those. I believe there is a site called whitegauges.com that has a lot of colors

Taking the needles off/on was easy. I took them off a couple of times. I took a picture of each needle with the engine running to know where to put it back. Water temp obvious may change depending when you take the picture. The speedo I did have to put back while driving, getting the speed from my GPS. It took a coule trial and errors to get it correct.

For the speedometer, it is a gear that you have to change. Easy to do '98 TJ Speedometer Gear
