Total $28.23

I only have an Overdrive switch on my Jeep since I have a Soft Top. I also didn't care about the indicator on the switch and I am just going to leave that alone.

Ill post pictures when I am done.

I have one question: Is there a blue/green cover behind the rocker switches or the HVAC controls? I know there is one behind the Auto Trans indicator.
How do you plan on getting that blue shade out of the auto trans indicator?

So.. Pulled it apart and there is a film that when light is not shining through it shows white, and when light shines through it shows blue. This film can be pulled out, but the only problem is that the plastic piece with the letters and numbers on it is clear. So if I were to take the film out I would see straight through to the bulb. I guess I could go out and find a small strip of white plastic and replace the stock one.

Yes the HVAC is tinted but I believe from other posts the red will show through. The auto trans has an aqua sheet under the numerals. You can remove it. I pulled it out in pieces with needle nose pliers

Can you still see everything okay or did you have to put in anew piece of plastic?

LEDs came in today and I really like the red. I like it more than I thought I would. The cluster is very bright and it livened up the HVAC that was dim to begin with. The transmission indicators also come up red with the film and I don't plan on taking the film out.

Of course pictures:
Cluster:

HVAC:

Transmission Indicator:

Tomorrow I am going to tear the dash apart again and do the O/D toggle if I have time. Otherwise it will definitely get done on Sunday.

Is it possible to switch out the lights in the switches for the fog lamps and wiper and defroster?

Just a note, I see you have the stock stereo. In another thread, someone took off the faceplate and did the bulbs with a red sharpie and it looked good.

Yes from what I've read they take the neo4mm bulbs for main illumination and neo3mm for the indicator lights

Yes I did my OD switch and it was a piece of cake. It takes the same Neo 4mm bulb that the HVAC does. The top bulb on them is a 3mm Neo. I didnt bother with the top one because the OD indicator is only on when the switch is toggled.

Did they say that you could order new bulbs and replace them or is coloring them with sharpie the only fix? Id rather change the bulbs if they can be changed.

The illumination is soldered to circuit boards so separation would not be easy (if possible)

Thanks I was hoping they were the 74 series bulbs. How do you get the light out?

You need to get the Center Bezel out from around the Radio/HVAC/ and Lower controls by removing the long strip of Plastic on the top of the dash and getting the two screws holding it on. Depending on the year of your Jeep you may have clips or more screws:

My 2004 has the two screws on the top and 4 clips holding it to the dash.
My Dad's 1998 has two screws on the top, one behind the ash tray, and [I think] one under the 12v Charger ports (Just start looking around for possible clips/screws).

Once the bezel is off, there are four screws holding the pod with the 12v Chargers and Toggles (Fog,Defrost,OD, etc.). When that is out (no need to unplug any connectors except for the toggle you are working on), there are two clips on the top and bottom of the switch holding it in the pod. Be careful as you can break the clip (like I did ). On the bottom of the toggle is the 4mm bulb, these are the NEO4-xHP that I used. On top would be where the NEO3-xHP would go if you are changing that one out (I didn't).

I don't know how many LEDs you will need if you have a hardtop because my Jeep came from the factory with a soft top and my fog light toggle is on the turn signal lever. I only did my 4mm in my OD switch and left the amber one up top alone.

Hope this helps.

Angry Auto Shifter LED

I have the WLED-B5 for the auto shifter and it is too wide to fit in from the bottom. Did I order the wrong bulb or does the housing come apart to insert the bulb from the top? Looks like the housing is glued together.
