I'm real happy with how this turned out! I just need to get the lights that will go in the wiper and defroster buttons

you want: Instrument General - 103. You need 5 (74-xHP)
#74-xHP LED CAR BULB Specifications

For the HVAC
Super Bright LEDs - Instrument Cluster and Gauge Backlights
The Neo Wedge Series
You need 3 of the NEOx 4mm - NOT Neo XHP

My part numbers are clear in the pix so if you get confused, just go off of them

Why not the XHP bulb for the hvac control? They look like they both would fit.

The bulbs don't come out of the bases in the 99-up hvac controls
97-98 do use the same bulbs...

For the HVAC mod, SuperbrightLEDS offers both 5 lumen and 10 lumen NEO 4mm bulbs. I'm looking for some feedback from both, is 5 too dim or is 10 too bright? If there was a 7lumen, I'd probably get that lol

They're both wedge series, just one is 5 lumen & the other is 10 lumen. This will answer my previous post in tandem.

Just did this mod in white. Love it. Had bad luck as first try only one of 5 was in the right direction. One in 3 on the HVAC. Oh well, all working great now. Did the foot wells too, and found much brighter if I leave the plastic caps off.

Just replaced mine with blue LED's. Not as bright as I thought they'd be on my 91 YJ, but still look better than the stock ones. Super easy to install. $10 on ebay and they do dim.

Anyone put on those $25 white vinyl gauge overlays.....
1987 1991 Jeep Wrangler White Face Gauges 87 91 | eBay

Not sure how cheap they are or if the LED's would light them up nicely.

Thanks.

I've read quite a few pages.. I've already done the HVAC and gauge cluster in blue a long time ago. I got them from SuperBrightLED's and one of the bulbs in the cluster was apparently defective. I'm going to replace it eventually, but I wanted to order the rest of my lighting kit when I replaced it so I only had to order one more time.

Can anyone confirm with a part number to make my stock license plate lights LED's? Also, please re-confirm my dome light part # for my 1999, and the footwell courtesy lights. lol

I've had red LEDs for about three years and have become bored of them. I ordered all new white ones to replace them including dome, courtesy, dash, and HVAC. I never had much success with the HVAC as it was too dim even after lining the bulb area with aluminum tape to try to reflect more light. They'll be in on Thursday so I'll be able to install them this weekend hopefully.

Just did my dashlights today with white on my 2000 TJ. It brought some life back to the interior. I didn't do the HVAC controls yet but I'm planning on it. Great little lighting upgrade. I also upgraded my soundbar light a while back to LED. Much much nicer!

This is after my swap from red to white. It is nice to actually be able to see inside at night. It is actually much brighter than it shows in the photo.

Could someone tell me which bulbs to get for the dome light and floorboard light? I am on superbrightled.com, and there are so many. I want to make sure I get the right ones.

I only have the one dome light like pictured.

Very Nice, that's a cool little mod. I wonder what other color would be bright enough though?

There's a few you can use, but the one I switched to was WLED-x19-T that runs $19.95. Prior to that I used an adapter with an LED array.

So as long as it is a 194 it would work? Is the same for the floorboard lights?

Thanks so much!

The 194s I listed for dome is a little big for the floor. For the floor, I used WLED-xHP5.

Thank you. One more question if you don't mind. Will these work for the floorboard? I think I want to try pink instead of white, and these are the only ones I could find.

They might, but you might have to do something with the wires. If you go by the pictures on the pink ones, the wires come out of the bottom and bend around opposite sides. The ones I ordered come out of the side and wrap completely around the base.

If you want, I'll go out tomorrow and look at my socket and see if that makes a difference or not.

Pink would be cool. A friend of mine built a Scrambler for his wife and bedlined it in bubblegum pink with purple LED strips. The outside is ratrod black. Tough on the outside, pimped on the inside.

The numbers I just got off them are bulb #912 for the dome light, and bulb # 906 for the floor so the pink ones I think might work. This is copied from the listing: The T10 LED bulbs will replace 2825, 168, 194, W5W housings, and will also fit the following housings: 2886x 158 161 168 175 901 904 906 912 916 920 921 and more.

Cool. I would love to see a picture of that rig. Sounds awesome, but then again I love pink.

194 is listed as a manufacturer number above that though. It'd be nice if they listed dimensions.

I know this is a totally different forum to be asking this, but I think ya'll might be able to help me anyway.

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy as well as my Jeep. While I am changing out to LED's I want to change the dome lights in my Envoy. What are these metal thingy's that are covering the lights, and do they need to be put back on once I install LED's?

Reflect light and probably also disperse heat so your plastic housing doesn't melt would be my guess. I'd leave them in.
