For Dash (need 5 but ordered 2 extra)
(7) 74-xHP3: Wedge Base LED bulb-74-RHP3: Red

HVAC/wiper/defrost switch (3 for HVAC, 2 for switches)
(5) NEOx-x: NEOx LED instrument bulb-NEO4-R: 4mm NEO4-x Red

Light in defrost switch
(1) NEOx-xHP: NEOx High power LED instrument bulb-NEO3-RHP: 3mm NEO3-xHP Red

I found the dash lights looked Great!!! No "light" areas, very bright and really pleased. The HVAC/rear wiper/rear defrost bulbs were another story. Not at all bright enough and not pleased with them at all. I have since ordered the following for the HVAC/rear wiper/rear defrost:

(5) NEOx-xHP: NEOx High Power LED Instrument bulb-NEO4-WHP: 4mm NEO4-xHP Cool White

My dash is still apart waiting for the LED's to arrive. I will post pic's once I get them showing the finished product.

I recommend getting the HP bulbs if you do this modification. Definitely worth the extra money.
Just did this Mod to my 99 TJ and wow it is awesome! The Red LED's are bright but not fatiguing on the eyes as where with the stock lights I would always dim them because they where too bright.

Finally ordered my LEDs from superbrightleds. Almost $60 worth of LEDs when all was said and done. I'll post pics when I get em installed. Oh and for anybody that orders from superbrightleds in the future I used a coupon code "RE619" that I found on the Internet. It got me 5% off and I know it's not much but it saved me a few bucks and every little bit helps.

I ordered these for my 04. It's the same for your 03. You need 5 for the gauges:
74-xHP3: Wedge Base LED bulb

Anybody know how to get the brights indicator bulb out? I tried to twist it out like the rest but it moved little to none. I didn't keep trying to twist because I didn't want to break anything.

dimming

This mod is great I want to go green but red will be easier on my eyes. I keep the OEM dash lights dimmed pretty low...

Speaking of dimming

Mine are just so bright its hard to notice.

I had to switch the polarity on two tonight because I accidentally did them backwards. When testing I noticed they do dim, but when the Jeep is running they dim so slightly its almost completely unnoticeable.
I installed the 3 LED Cool White (74-CWHP3) from www.superbrightleds.com
I believe some kind of resistor needs to be added to the circuit to make up for the difference between the smaller draw of the LEDs as compared to the larger draw of the incandescent bulbs.. This is Probably why the tri LEDs might dim better?

I see the in the pic wwch99tj posted in post #161 there appears to be reisiters built into the unit but it think that's to stop the led from burning out prematurely??? I'm no expert on this stuff..

Id love to see a pics comparing low and high on the dimmer switch.

yeah I want to do the whole interior red to match the red outside. I am doing all the dash, floorboards, and I might install LEDs in the cup holders too. I already have my seat covers picked out, but they are pricey ($500-600 for all the seats) so that is going to have to wait a while.

That sounds cool. When you get done please take some pics. I would love to see it. How would you do the cup holders. I would want to do that too.
