Hi guys hope all is well with you all. i have questions about some of the work my mechanic did for my jeep because i am not that experienced with it yet. After installing my 3.5 inch lift i started to get viberations that felt like were coming from the transfer case. After doing a diagnosis on my jeep my mechanic decided the problem is coming from my drive shafts sitting at a bad angle because they are to short he installed some spacers for the transmission to sit lowwer and allow the drive shafts to work properly. After installing the spacers the rear drive shaft was installed with out issue but now the front one is half an inch to long i currently dont have my front drive shaft installed and no have no more viberation. Does any one know if what he is doing is correct and what i should do to get the front drive shaft to fit ? Should i shorten it half an inch or do something different? any advise will help because of my lack in knowledge on the topic i have a feeling he isnt doing a good job. Thanks for your time in advance

You should find a way to post a pic of how much he lowered it. Maybe he lowered it too far just to make it not vibrate? Some pics of said spacers will help people on here give you advise. If he lowered to way too far it will probably start to push the front driveshaft into itself.

:thumb:Im not bad mouthing xtryan's advise about leaving the front driveshaft out for a bit while you figure it out. But just remember its out if you do go anywhere off road. Won't be any fun getting pulled out by a nissan xterra or something! Good luck buddy, I would do what XTRyan said about buying an actual kit for lowering it because those companies scienced out how much to lower it without going too far. Those spacers in your pic look like bushing sleeves or something to me.

Something else to consider, there is no harm is driving without a front drive shaft. I don't know how far off the SYE is, but if it's not too long and you're staying on the road between now and then you can leave the front DS in the garage.
That is definitely the most important part of the advice!

I went messing around in a stream after a lift but before fixing the 4WD linkage so that it works and ended up getting pulled out by a Pathfinder. Having 4WD as an option is always best, but driving with 1 drive shaft is an option in a pinch. I drove around in 4WD with only a front DS while I waited for my Tom Wood DS to come in after my SYE. No harm, no foul. Just had to keep it on the paved parts :happyyes:
