TJ Hardtop Wiring

I have a 1998 TJ that I have installed a hardtop. I would very much like to order the wiring kit for the wiper, washer, & defrost, but do not know what the year is of the top. Is there a way to identify which wiring harness I need? I have looked at some of the prior threads and notice that there are varying opinions about the ease of installation of these
kits?? Any help will be truly appreciated.

You need the kit FOR THE YEAR OF THE JEEP. The under the dash wiring changes and other kits will not work. 07-02 tops have vents behind the side windows. 03-06 do not. If you have a 03-06 top, you will need an adaptor or you can modify the plug.

Thanks to Neil F. This top does not have the vents so I now know it came from an 03 to 06. I will plan to purchase the plug adapter along with the wiring kit. I have average to low good maintenance abilities along with plenty of tools. Does anyone know how difficult these kits are to install. I have heard some horror stories!!!

Thanks to Neil F, along with others who gave or have advice.

I installed it on my 03 so the connectors are different from yours. The instructions only have pictures. A few words of text would go a long way to discribe things.

Here is how to modify the plug:
