TJ Lift question?

While replacing the front fenders on my 97 TJ I decided it would be a great time to replace the shocks. My buddy has a 05 TJ Rubicon that he lifted in 07. He gave me his coil springs and I'm looking to buy some shocks. Should i be looking to get shocks to fit a 97 or 05? The coil springs are a bit longer from the Rubicon. Quick search on line pulled up Monroe brand first. The part #s are exactly the same on the last 8 digits, but defer on the first 4.

I'm really not too concerned about it lifting it any higher. I just want the better ride as the shocks are OE. From waht I've read i may get a little increase in hieght which is ok too.

Thanks for your help!

97-05 shocks are the same. His shocks are taller because your 97 are old and have probably sagged over time.

Just buy shocks for no lift. The rubicon springs will give you the same height they just have a different spring rate if I remember correctly. The may give you lift if you have a 2.5/tj since his is a 4.0 rubi LJ right? Not enough to make a difference. Otherwise you can install the coils, measure the collapsed and extended length you would need and buy shocks accordingly. That's how it is supposed to be done.
