so...

if i did a 2" spring lift, 2" coil spacers, and 4" shocks, what else would i need?
or id i did 4" springs and 4" shocks

reason for the variable is i am looking for the parts used.

Generally speaking once you go over 3" or so, you have to change all sorts of things, due to the drive line geometry being thrown off by so much. Brake lines, SYE, CV, shifter linkage...... do some reading about 4" lifts around here and you'll find tons of info.

so 2.5" spring and 2.25" spacer is too much.

what about 2.5" spring and 1" or 1.25" spacer?

what other than shocks will i need for that combo?

I suggest a 3 inch suspension lift with new shocks, springs, sway bar disco, and a t case drop (all this is basically included in a lift kit). Then you can get a 1 inch body lift than you can have plenty of room for 33s .

x2...you wont even need the body lift. 3 inches is perfect for 33's.

Your gonna also need...
Front trac bar
Rear trac bar bracket
Extended brakelines
Longer sway bar links for the rear
Swaybar disconnects for the front
Bumpstops for all 4 corners

Pieceing together a lift isnt really the best way to go when you dont have too much knowledge of the suspension system. If I was you i would save your money and buy a kit that has all the parts you need. If you go the way you are planning by piecing things together, especially used parts, you might just end up regretting the whole thing.
Do it right the first time.

4" is better for 33's to allow for flex.

Obviously more flex is optimal, but too make the lift more reasonable for the OP, he wont need the body lift, he doesnt plan on offroading it anytime soon.
Just a waste of money and time.

so then 2.25" spacer and 1.25" body lift would be best for me, because i wouldnt have to get all the extra stuff.

shocks wouldnt even be mandatory, although i would do that at least.

If you are trying to fit 33's as inexpensively as possible, then yes the way you mentioned will be the least expensive route. I assume you have looked at your gearing, and are aware of the repercussions of putting the added weight/rolling mass on a 4 banger. I understand about doing it cheap, trust me.... Depends on what you expect from it and what you want to do with it.... Tell us more, please.

yes if you stick to around 2-2.5 inches and then go with small body lift you shouldnt have any issues with driveshafts and stuff. It will be a lot cheaper in the long run cause of all the extras you wont need.

Look on the rear diff, about the 10 o'clock position there is a metal tag, you'll need to wipe it off, and probably a flashlight and some good eyes.... there are a bunch of #'s embossed in the tag, the last 3 are your gears... They can come from the factory with several configs, so each one is different, that's why you have to look.

for a 4cly auto, it should be 3.73, unless the PO changed it.
