In light of the recent discussion of lifts, we all felt a thread with ONLY lift kit reviews in it would be a good source of information.
AzTJ posted a great lift review in the Your Lift thread and hopefully he will be posting it up here shortly.
Here are the rules.

Please be fair in your reviews. This lift sucks is not a review. Also, those reading reviews, remember this is personal opinion based on personal experience. If your lift is already reviewed, review it anyway. Ratings and reviews are always better when there's more than one opinion to draw from.

Likes: I really liked how complete of a kit I got for the price(included the sye & shaft). It performs VERY well on the larger rocks that I play in(once disconnected). Having replaced all 8 control arms, I feel very confident that I won't be damaging anything soon. The on-road manors are much better than stock and I can still take highway mountain turns at 65mph and not worry... it still grips like stock. The 3.5" springs are much taller than they say. I probably have gotten 4.25" out of them and I seem to still have close to 4" of lift after almost 2 years and a hard top on all the time.
Dis-Likes: The twin-tubes are rough riding... not bad on decent roads or highway, but once you hit bumps, you really tell how poor they are. Spend the money and get some good RE Mono-Tubes, Ranchos, or OME shocks. Another thing I don't like is the grease fittings. The ones on the lower control arms are between the axle tube and the control arm so using a grease gun with a flex hose is necessary and small fingers help. The front adjustable track bar is kinda dinky and the heim joint on the frame end needs lube quite often to keep the noise down when turning.
Would You Recommend: YES! For the price and performance, and completeness of the kit, I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a very nice weekend-warrior setup running 32-33" tires. The only things I'd like to change are the front and rear track bars. The kit is probably a little more extreme than what I actually do with it, but I like being over-prepared.

Likes: This kit was built very well and is very heavy duty. I have landed very hard, numerous times, on the belly skid and done nothing more than scratched it. I also like the rear tri-link set up because it allows removal of the rear trac bar and also trusses the axle itself. The truss is completley bolt on too which is a huge bonus if you ever decide to swap axles or something like that. The two major things that I am most happy with in this kit is its strength (everything is thick and heavy duty) and the flex that it produces. The shocks are the best I have ever used on any vehicle. They ride smooth on the road and highway but also do what all cheaper shocks dont do, soak up bumps. These things make it ride beautifully. Even around turns, they dont sink like normal shocks usually do which gives the Jeep a very stable ride. The coil springs were substituted for 3" coils only for the purpose of lowering the vehicle to get a better center of gravity and because 6" of lift (coils that come with the kit) is just unecessary for my tire size. But the spring rate on the tera coils do make it ride nice as well and do great while off road. The spring rate seems to be a little soft but they have yet to sag.
Dis-Likes: There is little I have to say about the kit that I did not like. To do any work on the trans or t case the entire skid must be removed which is a little annoying. I have also found that the zerks in a few of the ends arent accepting grease anymore but those are cheap and easy to swap out and its probably my fault they got gummed up anyway. The exhaust has to be reworked to clear some stuff too but if your going through the work of doing long arms then that shouldnt slow you down. The coils are a little soft and thats about it. Everything else has been good.
Recommend? : Absolutley. It rides better than stock and has been a killer kit. For someone that wants the very best for their dd and something that can also keep up with any other suspension out there, custom or not, this is the kit for you. It will ride like a dream with a good set of shocks like the ome I run and impress the crap out of you off road.
This is the entire lift kit, nothing mixed and matched that did not come with the kit. Same tires, before and after the kit.
Kit includes : RC 4" coil springs, RC lower control arms, transfer case drop kit, sway-bar links, RC Hydro 8000 series shocks, drop pitman arm and bracket, hardware..
Cheaper than competitors (in that height), good experience, fairly complete, it gets u riding 4 inches higher, looked quite nice and shiny in the box, comes with 4 small stickers and 2 big window sized stickers. Coils:They have rubber coating which does not peel or flake off like paint. Very thick and muscly. Lower control arms: still have paint on them with very little rust, they are also greasable which increases bushings life, location of grease fittings makes them very easy to maintain. Tcase drop kit: 2 square tubes (1 per side), not couple washers like some of the other kits. Still no signs of rust or paint flaking. Sway bar links: Solid good design, very reliable. RC Hydro 8000 series shocks: None Drop pitman arm and bracket: Better alternative than having to drill a big half an inch hole in the stock already weak bracket. Hardware: Any bolts and nuts are included in this category. It's good they were all here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dis-likes: Coils: Because they are very hard, they cannot flex and make a nice bouncy ride. At first when i installed the rc kit. I measured almost 5" of lift increase in the front and 4.75 in the rear. Well about half a year after installation (no offroading either) i noticed my rig was definitely sitting up higher on the rear end than the front which made me take measurements. Yup, it's true, the front was lower than the rear but also the passenger side was lower than the drivers side. Those measurements back then were 4.25" lift on the rear drivers coil, just under 4" for the passenger and about 3.5 for the fronts. The rubber coating was ripped on spots when i took it out of the box. Lower control arms: Very bad design. They use rubber/plastic cylinders as bushings which cannot bend or flex at all increasing the load on the axle and frame control arm brackets. Next, the location of the grease fittings puts them in the way of rocks fallen trees or any other obstacle on the world. Tcase drop kit: None Sway bar links: Paint is flaking exposing rust underneath. RC Hydro 8000 series shocks: They rode hard from the start till the second i ripped them out of there. I flipped the rear shocks over with no change. I am not saying factory sports car hard, i'm saying racing car hard. Again rust on the body and plenty on the piston rod. Drop pitman arm and bracket: uck, I dont know why they spend their time even designing this combo. It's junk but yet costs just a bit less than their 4" track bar. I have some bump steer. The bracket and the dropped pitman arm are both 100% rusted. Hardware: NOT A SINGLE BOLT WAS STAINLESS. They all rusted through.
Over all this is a basic lift kit that will get you riding 4" higher but you will hate every part of it without throwing extra cash in there. Riding in this thing is just horrible, it flexes horrible comparing to stock because of the suspension being so much harder from springs to shocks and yet it leans a lot more. In other words you need good traction to flex this thing and at least some good shocks to make ride good.

Likes: it does what it says: 2.25'' of lift. its cheap, and a great place to start because you can keep them in when upgrading your lift.. the ride feels the same as stock, but probably because im on the old stock shocks still. also like that its an actual 2.25'' lift because most 2'' bb are actually 1.75'' to 2'' and this is a definate 2''. 1/4 inch might not sound like much but hey, every bit helps right? especially when your cheap! i dont plan on going too much farther with this jeep, as its a 4cyl and i want to get a rubicon next year. my wife wants this one, so i think 2'' will suit her fine.
Dislikes- instructions made things seem easier than they really are.. theres some better install instructions online that go way more into detail than what ships with the parts. not too much i can dislike about it, i mean its a 2.25 inch lift that you dont need any other parts for besides the lift spacers, and rear bump stops.
Would You Recommend: YES! for anyone looking for a BUDGET boost this kit is the way to go.

Likes: I purchased the RE from Offroad Toy Store. The basic kit came with: 4 fixed length lower control arms, 3.5" springs, extended bump stops, extended front brake lines, rear track bar bracket, rear extended sway bar links, transfer case lowering kit (not used), RE gen 2 front disconnects, and DT3000 shocks. The thing I really liked is that OTS offered upgrade options to the basic kit. It was $120 to upgrade the 4 control arms to adjustable, $180 to upgrade to the Rancho 9000x shocks, $120 for the front track bar, and $50 to upgrade to the JKS Discos. Shipping was free and they threw in a Rancho 5000 steering stabilizer for good measure. Total cost for the kit and upgrades was about $1,250. I installed everything in one day with the help of a friend who had installed the same kit on his Jeep a few months before. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Took it in and had it aligned the next day. (01/14/09 current price, w/upgrades = $1,340)
I have since upgraded the rear upper control arms to RE superflex adjustables, added JKS front bar pin eliminators and the in-cab controller for the shocks. I have adjustable RE superflex upper front control arms and rear JKS bar pin eliminators sitting on the bench waiting to be installed.
Two years later I can say that this kit has held up exceptionally well. I'm very happy with the performance both on and offroad. This is my daily driver so road manners were important to me. The ride is much better than stock and the adjustable shocks allow you to tune the ride to the road conditions. Offroad, it performs like a champ. Lots of flex and plenty of clearance when combined with the 33" tires. Overall, I got 4.5"s of lift and because I have an unlimited, I did not have to drop the transfer case or do a SYE/CV drive shaft conversion. I've added a winch, Oil pan skid, bumpers, tire carrier and a 33" spare and have only experienced 3/4" of sag in the springs in over two years.
Another thing I like about this kit is that it is upgradable to a long arm lift if I choose to do that in the future.
Dis-Likes: It is hard to come up with anything I dislike about this lift. RE has exceptional customer service. When the bushings went bad on my rear upper control arms, they sent me new ones for free (even though I was not the original owner). The biggest pain in the whole install process was getting the barpins installed in the shocks. And then the shocks made a clunking noise from sliding around on the bar pins. I'd suggest that anyone installing this kit spend the $50 on JKS front and rear bar pin eliminators from the beginning. It will save a lot of time and wasted energy.
Would You Recommend:YES! I would highly recommend this kit (more so when combined with the upgrade options) I did a lot of research before purchasing it and have no regrets. It was easy to install (I would highly recommend that anyone who chooses to lift their Jeep do the install themselves) and my experience with RE customer service was great.

Likes: The RE kit came with absolutely everything I needed, and eveything fit like it was supposed to. RE seems to underrate their lifts, a 4.5'' RE is more like a 5'' lift from other companies (or maybe I'm just a litle crazy) With a 1'' body my 35's fit with no rubbing at all and plenty of room for flex. I also went with an OME steering stabilizer.
Dis-Likes: The ride is not very smooth. On the highway it's fine, rides straight and handles well. But at speed any major bump/pothole (and there's a lot in NYC) will make you feel like you need a new spine. The kit was a little pricey.
Would You Recommend: Yes. RE makes a great product and I've got many trail hours and highway hours on the kit with no problems so far.

LIKES: RockKrawler knows how to build their stuff, everything that came with the kit seems indestructable, Zerk fittings are easily accessible, but don't come with kit, the company apparently plugs them saying that they do not need to be greased because the bushings are captured. Easy to install, however, the rear cradle for the tri-link rear end has to be welded to the axle. Kit is complete with SS brake lines, front adjustable track bar and bracket, drop pitman arm, springs that seem to have given me more than 4" of lift, fully adjustable upper and lower control arms, and Rockkrawler's abuse proof warranty on all parts. Customer service was great M-F, non-existent on the weekends , even when they initially sent me the wrong kit, they rectified it within days.
DISLIKES: EXPENSIVE, Rear cradle had to be welded in, no shocks with kit, instructions are lacking some information, and when you do some serious offroading, half the jam nuts or attach bolts for the control arms come loose and have to be re-torqued.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND: Yes, This kit is for us who like to constantly tinker with their rigs, if you are looking for a lift that requires nothing after you leave the trail, than this lift is not for you. With the OME nitro's and this particular lift, the ride quality on the trail/road is phenominal.

The lift is great. It rides good on road and works great off road. The quality is top-notch. I ruined both rear shocks by mounting the shock brackets too high and bottoming them out, RE replaced them even though it was my fault. The kit comes with everything you need including brake lines and pitman arm. Some people say they don’t like the radius arm setup, but I really like it.
The instructions are a bit lacking but if you have any mechanical experience you can figure it out. As with any long arm, you have to cut off the frame control arm brackets. With the RELA there is a little welding. I wouldn’t do the Trilink again, it is more money and it puts a control arm right where the exhaust should be routed and makes it hard to come up with an exhaust that fits. The RELA kind of expensive but you get what you pay for!

Likes: This kit was very cheap ($500) and allowed me to go bigger cheap and put 33’s on my Jeep. This brought me into a new level of wheeling. The soft springs also flex well. The combination of the soft springs and shocks valved specifically for the Wrangler make for a soft street ride too.
Dis-Likes: The problems started with the install. The instructions were like something a guy in China used a Chinese to English dictionary to write having never seen a Jeep before. The instructions also skip over the fact that the front drive shaft will hit the trans-skid if it’s left in place. Removal of the skid and replacement with a Warn skid was my first upgrade.
Upon taking my first ride, I felt the rear trackbar bracket hit the underside of the body while driving over a bump. The bracket is very tall compared to other brands. I replaced it with one from Rubicon Express to fix this issue.
When adding the weight of my hardtop, rear tire carrier and 33” tire, the rear springs began to sag. I had to add a 1” spring spacer to the rear. The Full Traction front trackbar is cheap and would flex as I turned the wheels. I replaced it with one from Skyjacker. After adding a SYE and a Dana 44 in the rear I needed adjustable control arms, because the kit still used the stock ones. I got them from Rusty’s Off-road and couldn’t be happier with them.
Recommend? : N0. In the end you get what you pay for. The kit is cheap in every way. It’s been 4 years now and I’ve replaced almost everything but the springs. It comes lacking many thing other kits include. Save your money and get a more complete kit with tougher parts and you’ll save money in the long run.

Likes: I really like the strength of this kit and the craftsmanship. The Johnny Joints make this kit flex like crazy and the street ride is awesome too. This is my DD & wknd warrior.
I have nothing that I disllike about this kit. Only had one issue with is and that was with the Front Trackbar rubbing the diff cover. During the installatrion I noticed that the Air Locker relay was in the way and might get crushed, so moved it and zipped tied it back.
Would You Recommend: YES!!!! worht every penny for a dependable no B.S. lift kit. This kit was made for abuse and it sure takes it.

Likes: This lift is very complete and includes everything you need up front to get it back on the road when the lift is done. It rides very nice, has a lot of flex and so far (been on for over 2 years now) holds up very well to the abuse I've given it. No spring sag (yet anyway) and I get zero tire rub with 35" tires. The dirt logic monotubes are a tad stiffer than what stock feels like, but give excellent performance and feedback on the trail. A worthy lift for TJ's.
Dis-Likes: High dollar lift. Keeps you with the stock skid plate. It's not the easiest lift to install. Not many Jeep folks have them (As Fabtech primarily makes truck lifts).
Would You Recommend: Yes. Performance wise, it compares to the other great lift packages out there and is a very complete kit. If you want a full 6" of lift without additional BL and can find it priced to compete with RE, go for it. You will be happy.

Likes: I like the way it rides, soft, but not too soft. It was cheap ($550), and came with quick disconnects, although I bought the Pro Comp shocks seperatly. It was fairly easy to install if you know what you are doing, I suggest to have someone who knows what their doing install it.
Dis-Likes: Non so far, I've had it for over 5 months now. There was one problem, it may be the installers fault (my jeep buddy) or the lift, I am not sure. He installed it, and I got the death wobble. I went to my mechanic friend who pretty much took off the whole lift and put it back on correctly. It runs great now, just make sure you do it right the first time.
Recommend? : Yes, it is cheap and I am glad that I did it. It looks great, and besides for the death wobble, I am happy with it. Ever since I fixed the death wobble, everything's been great (knock on wood).

Likes: Local shop is dealer/installer and involved in testing. Answered all my question before, during and after purchase and install. Support is A+ from RK. BEST flex of any longarm kit. mostly because of using only a single arm from frame to axle on passanger side. Optioned to have extra long travel shocks for maximum flex/droop. Upgradable to approx 10" stretch for not a ton of money. Good fair price.
Dis-Likes: Get some good coil/spring retainer clips to hold your coil in at the bottom of the bucket. the retainer clips hold the front coils in but I've had the clips break a few times and spent the day pulling my hair out every time the front end would flex and drop a spring. The rear coils are kept in place mostly by the shocks limiting rear flex. The procomp shocks we bought have internal bump stops so there is no concern for overextending them. Be sure to use bar pin eliminators in the rear otherwise the shocks will pull out from the tub when they reach max flex and you'll also lose a coil when that happens (see 1st picture). I'm in the process of upgrading to coilovers in the front and eventually in the rear and stretching with the RK stretch kit
Would You Recommend: of course. its awesome. if I were to buy another jeep or given the opportunity to help a friend select parts for a jeep build I would definately go with this RK lift.

Likes: pieced this together with my spare money on weekends. stock control arms flex amazingly! I used this setup for years all the way till I finally saved for a RK long arm kit. The shortish shocks worked great! limited flex so the stock arm bushings wouldn't overwork themselves and still offered tons of flex as you can see in the photos.
Dis-Likes: ZERO complaints. kept up with all the "hardcore" wheelers. WHen I finally did switch out everything for the RK kit the stock control arms were pretty much done... the metal was cracked and splitting and the bushings were toast. But that just made it flex even better

Likes: Was an easy install. Price was good. I purchased RE shocks prior to lift. Ended up with more then 3" of lift.
Dis-Likes: where to begin. The front track bar is garbage. There is no way to even describe how poor the quality of it is. The rear track bar bracket was a p.i.t.a. to mount and must be re-tightened all the time. The RE shocks are very stiff, if your into having your stomach in your throat every bump, then these shocks are for you. The end links are complete junk. The pin for the disconnect ended up wearing the hole bigger and I ended up putting a 3'8"s bolt threw it to stop the banging noise, so they are no longer quick disco's. The steering is very loose now, the ride sucks, I had to instal a 1" spacer up front because the springs sagged 1 month later. I used the tc drop that came with the kit and it still has vibes, had to butcher my console to get the shifter into 2nd, 4th, 6th and reverse.
Would You Recommend: Not really. If your looking for a cheap priced lift, then you'll get a cheap lift. I am debating whether to upgrade all the other parts minus the springs, or take it out and go back to a BB.
You'll be in a great mood all day because you'll be slapping all your troubles away.
Likes: I like this kit alot.. its super easy to install and instructions were good enough for non mechanically inclinded person such as myself to do the install.. for the wheeling i do now it is perfect.. flexes just as much as i need it too and it has plenty of clearance when going up small step ups.. the ride is excellent just the same as it was when i was rolling stock...
Dis-Likes: i wish i would have gone with the super ultimate kit b/c i would really like to have the adjustables for the sye/cv only because im looking into a tummy tuck real soon.. i wish it was a bit higher as well b/c i would like to run 35s once the 33s wear out and i am deciding on if i want to run tubes or opt for larger springs i feel like i am going to outgrow the type of trails i run now and feel like i will eventually go larger once i can afford it...
Would You Recommend: H#LL YES!!! this kit is awesome came with the jks discos and front and rear trackbars.. for the price and the lift you get and the little upkeep you have to do its perfect IMO..

Likes: This lift really settles out to just under 4.5". It was a decent install and the parts are well made and stocky. It allows for a lot of flex and handles well at all speeds and in all terrain.
Dis-Likes: The shocks and springs are stiff as hell. Yeah I can live with it but I get air every time I hit a pot hole or speed bump.
Would You Recommend: Absolutely! It was under a grand with the shocks and control arms! There are zerks for everything.

Likes: The price was awesome. the instructions well forgot to make it into the box heh. Scott is just down the road if I had a problem anyways. It rides much better then it did with what it had before.
Dis-Likes: I really don't have any at all. Everything went together fairly easy.
Would You Recommend: I will recommend this lift to anybody. For the price you can not beat it. I am glad it is on the truck. unk

Likes: Whats not to like? Great quality, Its suppose to RTi big numbers (I wouldn't know. I have not found anyone with a ramp yet) It rides better than a stock TJ, and hey it looks freakin cool. Oh and for me.. My lift matches my jeep in color.
Dis-Likes: none? maybe the multi adjustments of this complex kit in that it is neccesary for adjustment purposes it also allows for more points that you have to check periodicly. same with grease fittings but again would you want it any other way?
Would You Recommend: YES! Absolutley. I was almost talked into the 4.5" kit and trimming for 35's Im glad I went full 5.5" because Now I wish it was even bigger. I also highly recommend the Bilstiens. you will loose a little flex compared to the rubicon shocks due to the mounting adapters but I pull a boat with my jeep and it sees more pavement than anything and the bilstiens are very stable and ride GREAT.

Likes: Amazing lift, i actually got about 5in out of the suspension without the body. still hasnt sagged down 3 months later. it was fairly simple to install and had very quick shipping. I love the quick disconnects, they are very easy to use and workgreat.
Dislikes: I had to purchase a drop pitman arm and an adjustable track bar outside of the kit.
Over all i would reccomend this kit to any jeep, it is perfect for what i need and i havent had any problems with it.
97 tj sahara with : 2 1/2 OME with 1 3/4 coil spacers up front,1 1/4 spacers at the rear. Also jks 1 1/4 body lift.Dropped pitman arm,adjustable front track bar OME stabilizer.Planning on replacing the suspension (8 years old) with a 4.5 RE superflex with 3.5 inch springs.I want adjustable control arms....

Likes: like the way it looks and has a nice clearance, decent price compared to spacer kits on quadratec and such.

seems to ride a little rougher over bumps, but i think thats due to the progressive rate springs compressing at 115lbs. then up to 160lbs.
does seem to ride smoother on a good road.
Dislikes: other than the rough ride (guess thats why they call it rough country..lol) cant really say i dislike it. this is however my first experience with driving a lifted vehicle.
Would i recommend: yes, if your looking for some extra lift off your stocker, i would recommend, the price is very good for what i compared it to, coming with springs and shocks and not needed to do any drilling or welding or change the angle of my driveshaft or change it out. i was able to keep all else with no changes. you can run up to 32" tires.
NOTE: if you are in the market for a lift and want a 2" or 2.5", i would highly recommend going a bit bigger, i love the way mine looks now but can already tell now that i would love to have been able to put a 4" or better on it, but for the cost i got what i wanted.

Lift: rough country series II 4"
Shocks: 2.2 rc perf. shocks
Likes: overall a very good lift. all the pcs were in the box and all
the hardware was grade 8. got the shock upgrade which is a mush
and also got the upgraded steering stabalizer. the kit flexes like
crazy and is not too bad of a ride. didnt have to use the t case
drop or a sye. no dw, no steering wander, drives really good.
Dislikes: using rubber bushings makes the lower control arms bang
around while daily driving. no grease fittings on lower control
Would i recommend: i would recommend this lift kit. allows you to
run 33x12.50xr15's with plenty of room for flex. fairly easy and
straightforward install and gets you out on the trail.

LIKES: It was an easy install. Rides well with plenty of flex. With the LJ you don't need TC drop or new driveshafts.
DISLIKES: The lower CA bushing lips get cut by the edge of the arms and the tracbar drop brackets need to be tacked or they have a tendency to move.
It's a good kit for the money!
