Question TJ Light Bar

I'm looking for a light bar for above my windshield. I've done a lot of research on the different styles, but everything seems way too expensive. I have access to every tool imaginable at my shop job, but I need an idea for a design. Can anyone post some pics of theirs?

I'm too cheap to buy a $100 steel tube that's been bent and welded. I'm only 17, but I already love Jeeps and it's addicting to work on mine. So I love doing the work. It pays off!

i got one from quadratec. The CARR folding RotaBar. I like it alot...plenty of room for lights and the channel that spans across lets you hide you wiring pretty good. The instructions for it say that it should only support 4lbs. but it is much sturdier than they make it out to be...i have had friends standing on my nerf bars and holding on to the light bar to shake the jeep to try and rock'er free...lol

This is mine. Home built. the wires for the lights are run down through the bar, behind my antena and under the hood to hook up to all my relays.

I wanted the extra bars so hopefully any tree branches I drive into would hit them and bounce over rather than take out my lights.

LOL... My fabricator (father) doesn't work much in the cold, and travels during the nice months of the year. (It must be nice to be retired) Only took a pipe bender, welder, about $200 worth of materials and about 4 months to get right...

I've told him before he should market some of this stuff, but he does it for fun. Although being the only person I know with a welder, my friends are always coming over to put something together. Having the right tools and knowing how to use them is priceless...

His past projects have included 3 rear bumpers, one with a built in tire carrier, one add on tire carrier, my light bar, and my front bumper. His current project is a 12 square ft smoker for all the meat you could ever dream of... Almost anyways....

Thanx for the quick replies guys! I really like the Idea of adding the upper bar in case of low objects hitting the lights. Peepers, do you have any other closeup pics so I can see how you have it attached to the windshield hinge?
