TJ Mirrors

Probably a silly question but on the way to work this morning my 01 TJ sport driver mirror kept moving on me. This is a full door hartop (tops off). Is there a way to tighten them up? Mirror swivels not the bolts in the door

Get on your knee and look up under the mirror there is a singal nut under there you need to tighten that up, which is weird because mine is rusted to hell and It aint going anywhere haha, try that If that does not work they are simple to replace just 3 bolts and pop a new one on.

Thanks for the reply spy. You got me curious so I went out and looked at the mirror. I see the nut you refer to. Thats for the swing arm. Its very snug there but my issue seems to be where the bottom of the mirror itself (has a dust sleeve) is on a pivot ball I think and its loose. I didn't know if there was an adjustment there or not or if once it gets loose its just time to change it out. Thanks.

Pull down on that rubber accordion part and you can see two phillips head screws. Try tightening them...

the late TJ's have a fingered washer on the plastic finger underneath, if you fit a socket from the bottom, around the finger, then have someone hold down on the top of the mirror while you tap on the socket, you can tighten it up.
