TJ newb

I picked up a 1999 TJ Sahara last week. My first Jeep.

It was seriously neglected by the PO, but I have shown it some love since the acquisition:
- changed all fluids (oil, front axle, rear axle, coolant, tranny, power steering)
- rad cap replaced due to rust
- multi-function signal switch replaced due to hazards not working and left signal intermittently working
- rear brake lights not working, brake switch replaced, but the issue was due to the tow harness in the rear shorting out the brake lights. harness is removed for now
- blower motor resistor replaced. fan was only available on highest setting
- clockspring busted and horn is not working. temporary mcgyver ghetto rigged light switch used for the horn

This is a great forum and there is an abundance of knowledge here.

BTW, does anybody know what kind of bumper I have?

I have not seen it on any jeeps, anywhere...

Looks like quite the project!

I would be worried about what the radiator and engine block look like with that much rust on the radiator cap. How do the fins look if you look under the cap?

As for the bumper I'm guessing its either home made or an eBay bumper. It doesn't look like any major company I have seen before.

Looks like its time to spray those fender guards too. One little clean up project after another with our Jeeps.

I won't lie if the light switch horn was an option I might think about it. Or even to turn interior lights on and off.

Congratulations OP. I just picked up an 01 sport with 78k miles. Came with a 4" skyjacker and brand new 33s.

Have a new front bumper sitting in my living room. Flat fenders and cragars coming. The entire entire is CAKED with mud. Behind my tail lights everywhere. Dirty boy needs a bath
