TJ parts info needed...

This is my first post on this forum as I bought a 97 Wrangler yesterday evening, it has 85000 miles on it. The deal was too good to pass up on, but by it being such a good deal for me it was minus the top, doors, and back seat. Car lot couldn't find a buyer with it missing those items so I struck gold. My question is will a hard top from a YJ fit this TJ and also what about the doors and back seat? Have found some good prices on craigslist in my area on used YJ hardtops.

not sure about the hard top. half doors can be found for 200-400, full hard doors can be found for 750-1000. There are soft lower's also. Back seats are usually available also for around 100-150 all day long...these are from my dealings with my local craigslist

It will fit, but needs major modification to the front around the windshield frame. The tub mating surfaces are easier, since you just have to drill new holes. The real problem is the doors, once you get the top on. You have to be sure that the latching mechanisms are for a TJ and the uppers would have to be made to fit your modified top.

If it didn't come with a top and doesn't have the soft top hardware, you could get the frameless soft top to save some money.

And soft doors.

I was curious about the hardtop, so I searched and found this. Pretty cool looking Cj top on a tj.

How much did you pay for the stripped out Jeep?
Violence may not be the answer but it sure cuts down on the stupid questions

Paid $3900 for it, has 85286 miles on it. New Goodyear Wrangler tires, has the 4 cyl engine with 5 speed tranny. New clutch installed this winter. Paint looks good, body is straight. Came with a bimini top. All I need is a rear seat, doors, and soft top or either a hard top. I think that I did really good on this deal as Jeeps are priced really high in this area, the gulf coast beaches are only 1 hour south of me and junked out clunkers bring a premium around here.

Go with a Rampage soft top or similar. Do you have the door surrounds? If not you can pick them up all day long on craigslist. If you can't find any I have a pair. Figure out if you even want a back seat. I took mine out a long time ago. Then decide on which door style you like. Full soft, half door or full doors. The YJ stuff "CAN" work but unless your quite good a fabrication it would be worth it just to find TJ parts.
