TJ popping out of 5th...

Hey guys and girls,
Here I am again writing to you for some advice on what the problem might be with my tranny. I have had my 04 for just a bit over a year and have put quite a bit of money into it since the previous owner abused it. Most of the money I have spent has not been on mods unfortunately. I love this jeep, even with all the money I have spent to have it fixed so far. Funny how with a jeep you can constantly pour money into it and still not take anything for it! Anyway, here's my problem.....
I just had a friend of mine install a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing. Turns out the clutch had already been replaced and this jeep had less than 60k on it when I bought it....back to the subject...I had him install a new clutch kit anyway. I get the jeep back and it's not even a week later it starts jumping out of 5th gear....and scaring the crap out of me when it does it. Now, I don't drive it anywhere if I know I'm going to have to drive it in 5th for an extended amount of sucks! It wasn't doing this before the new there any chance he screwed something up? He offered to look at it, and fix it, but the thing is I really don't trust him to fix it anymore. It took him a month to do the clutch, then he left something unbolted underneath another time, which caused a crazy grinding sound, and that time it took him another month to diagnose that problem when it took another guy that works for him 30 minutes to diagnose it and fix it. So cheap or not, I'm done with this dude. Any suggestions? I have looked at the boot being in the way and other simple stuff without having it torn apart again...any help is greatly appreciated.

My 5 speed done that in 1st gear, that scared people near by,it was loud and the Jeep would jerk.

I switched my transmission fluid to synthetic motor oil,Jeep approves 10w30 synthetic motor oil in the ax-15 transmission, now if you have the nv3550.....i dont know if thats ok to use.

I know when I went synthetic motor oil in my ax-15,no more poping out of 1st,no more hard shifting in second and no more grinding in third,no more transmission whinning.

Some people used stuff called Redline,I hear that works wonders as well but pricey

i'll stick with penzoil synthetic motor oil 10w30
