Unhappy TJ Rear Soft Top Window Question

I will do my best to explain my problem:

I recently bought a rear replacement window for my 1997 TJ from a guy on craigslist. It was not until days later I tried to put it on my jeep and realized that it would not work because the the slider (the thing you move to make it zip) not attached to the window, I guess for this model the slider must be already attached to the soft-top.

What makes this even more confusing is that my existing passanger side is made exactly like the non-fitting replacement where the slider is attached to the top and not the window itself.

I just want to find this window a good home on a jeep with the matching soft top. I want to sell it on ebay, but i dont want the buyer to have the same problem as me.

Heck just take both to an upholstery shop and have em swap the slider to the new window. Problem solved, matching windows.

Or do it yourself. It's no biggie. I just had to redo the back window on ours as the zipper had pulled apart at both corners. Popped the stops off both sides, pair of side cutters worked well for grabing the pressed in stops and bending them to remove and reinstall them.

Pulled both zipper slides off, pull the window loose, reinstalled one slide to connect everything back together, installed the second slide, reinstalled the stops.

Took more time getting the corners zipped back together then all else. Maybe 1/2 hour at most. Your's shouldn't take more then a couple.

I dont want to try a self fix, if I screw it up I will be out two windows. I might get a quote from an upholstery shop, but I just want to sell it to the right kind of top owner and try again.

Sounds like yours came from an '03+..... They swapped the zipper orientation then, iirc.

Thanks, Makes no sense why they would do that... I can now put on ebay with a clear conscience.
