TJ shifter relocation

I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ, 4 inch Rocky Ready suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift. My problem "today" is I recently just replaced my intake/exhaust manifold gasket and after I was done I had the idea of heating up the manual shifter and bending it approximately 1 inch rearward to allow for the clearence of the not hitting my knuckles on the dash board. Now I can't shift into 2nd and 4th, without slamming it down and most of the time it grinds just a little bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do or buy to allow for easy shifting into 2nd and 4th?

Yeah bud, just buy a B&M short throw shifter and it will solve all your tranny shiting problems. my black 01 had 3+4 and 38's, shifter was a nightmare until the short throw. One of the best upgrades i put on the jeep.

Orrrr, remove the body lift that is only hurting his performance, and shifting quality.

Orrr...give advice that answers his question and doesnt hate on his setup. I ran the same setup and had no problems at all. Some of us run mud drags and bogs only and never go near rocks so the BL works perfectly fine for us. You dont like it, fine. I despise 30" rims on honda civics, but whatever floats your boat.

Im not "hating" on his setup. Im giving him the best answer to cure his problems correctly, without buying more parts because he wants 3" of BL to kill his cog.
