I understand where you're going with this, it's definitely stronger to install chromoly shafts. But do you think my 2.5l w/ 4.10s and 32's necessitate the upgrade to chromolys? We're talking $500 for new shafts compared to $50 junkyard shafts.
I have a slow leaking passenger axle seal and since I have to pull the shaft anyway, I though I'd eliminate the CAD system while I'm at it by installing a one-piece TJ shaft, larger u-joints too than mine. I've read that the TJ's with ABS might have a different diameter shaft, so that's why I'm looking to see which ones don't have that feature.
Interesting. I have a friend here in Florida that is looking to purchase a Jeep that is for sale in North Carolina. He received the VIN so he's pulling the build sheet. Would ABS be on the build sheet of a vehicle as "ABS" or something else?
I do have a non-ABS Jeep lol, I'm stealing one of your TJ axle shafts for my YJ, it has to be non-ABS for it to fit, see post #7. I can't believe how different across the board it is though for the TJ family, I thought ABS was a standard feature on vehicles post late 90's vehicles. This has been very interesting thanks for the help guys, I really do appreciate it
