TJ stalls at idle

I was teaching a buddy how to drive a manual when he flooded the engine. I let it sit for a while and managed to get it running but now whenever I'm at idle my RPM's dip until it stalls. I can prevent this by giving it gas but that's not a "long term solution". I have an 04 4.0 5 speed if that helps.

From what I've read on the topic that seems to be a gradual thing whereas this started quite suddenly.

I had the exact same issue at start up and it turned out to be my battery. Worth checking out at an autozone before you go tearing into everything else.
