TJ Track Bar Question

I pulled the bolt out of the passenger side and noticed the threads on the bolt are warn off in side the bushing on the Track Bar. I know this can cause DW. I read the DW threads, but I thought TJ track Bars had 2 bolts. I have a bolt on one side and a castle nut with a greasable fitting on the other. 2 Questions: What size bolt to I need on the Passenger side? Anything I need to replace or check on the drivers side?

See here: Busted TJ track bar bolt fix.

if the drivers side is bad, you need to replace the whole track bar. don't worry, they're cheap and easily available from your local NAPA.

12mmx1.25 thread. A 3/8x16 will not work because it's too loose and will cause DW

reading that has me even more confused. Will the stock nut work or do I have to make one with the tab?

I had a problem with death wobble and I replaced my bolt with a 7/16 x 2 1/2" grade 8 bolt to fit snug. Also had to drill out the track bar bushing washer to fit the bolt. As far as the nut, I obviously had to replace it. You don't need one with a tab I used a regular one. There is enough room to fit a wrench in there, may be a little tricky because it's tight but it can be done.
This along with a few other mods cured my death wobble for good. Hope this helps

the stock flag nut is nothing more than a nut attached to a flag.

you can make a flag nut pretty easily if you have access to a welder for less than a minute.

if not, you can fish an offset wrench in there to hold a nut...it's just a bigger PITA.

Is that the size I need on an 03? What other mods did you do?
