TJ Transmission Mount

Just a little heads up/reminder, if you haven't checked the condition of your transmission mount lately it might be a good idea to the next time your under your TJ, especially if you do any type of off roading. I had more than a little play between the trans/T-case and decided it was a good idea to check the mount. Upon removing the last few skid plate bolts the skid plate came off without having to remove the trans mount bolts, this should not have happened if the mount was in good condition. Turns out at some point in time the original mount was torque enough to the point it bent the tabs over and the metal rod that keeps it all together was gone. Just thought I'd put it out there seeing how it's the last thing most people would think of checking if at all.

If you replace the mount with a Polyurethane type expect some increased vibration and road noise as the polyurethane does not absorb these as well as the stock rubber mount does. But like most things the upgraded Poly mount is a far better design than that of the factory rubber mount and should last much longer than the original cheap rubber one that comes stock.
