Tj tune-up

Hey guys this time I have a question for my girlfriend. She has a 97 tj and it seems to be struggling a little but while she's driving and her gas mileage is worse than mine and she has a stock 4 banger and mines lifted with 31s on it. Everyone is saying she needs a tune up for her jeep but she doesn't know what that would consist of and I gave her a few options but I didn't know what I was missing. She just got her oil changed, I recommend new spark plugs, dumping out her gas tank and getting it cleaned out and stuff like that. She has an inspection here soon too. Any ideas?

Why would you dump out the gas tank and clean it out?

I figured she might have got a bad batch of gas a while back or something. I did it with my 88 corsica a while back and that was the problem with it so I figured I'd be worth a shot

do what everyone else is saying, a tune up with a decent set of plugs wires and distributor cap, check the fluid in the transmission and transfer case, and check the air filter (i have a spectre in mine that is the same as a k&n but half the price) and when ever i do an oil change i fill the tank up and add a thing of sea foam to it. also...get some carb cleaner and spray out the throttle body, if it looks pretty gunked up take it off and scrub it gently with a wire brush. good luck!
