OK guys (and girls) I'll start! first advice don't do it! second advice do you have a donor vehicle with every thing you need sans the adapters? Third do you have a barrel full of cash? if so buy a TJ with a 4.0 and be happy! Ok so your still not convinced! You'll need engine, tranny, transfer case, drive shafts, gauges, are you going FI or carbed? Another option is to stay Mopar and drop in the whole 5.9? (360) from a dakota or durango engine, tranny, transfer case complete. but before you start dig up a old issue of JP magazine where they did this swap and they even went to the experts for computer wiring issues!and by the way if you don't already get JP magazine get it now. They've covered this to death in the last couple of years. my 2 Cents

Read up on some of the swaps on here, Jeepforum, pirate4x4, etc.

Always more work than you'd think.

The only gm swap worth doing anymore is a ls swap. The older 5.7 engines don't really have any benefit over a magnum v8 and the swap will cost twice as much. I have about $700.00 out of pocket into my magnum v8 swap and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Don't forget if you run all chebby junk in your Jeep you'll also be looking at swapping axles, as the rear end is junk and the front end has the wrong diff drop

Yeah think about swapping that weak pair of Dana axles (30 and 35) If you haven't. They will be shredded with a 350 small block haha

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
