TJ wiper shaft damaged...what/how to replace?

New jeep owner. Bought an '04 Wrangler that was rolled then repaired. Looks like wiper shaft was damaged. Pulled arm off and found "grooved" head on shaft was broken loose from the shaft (weld broken?). What do I need to do to replace/repair this part? What do I need to buy, and how do you make the repair? Thanks for any help.

Not sure what your talking about, can you post pictures. If it what the wiper arm attaches to just get a new one and replace it.

Here's a photo....what's this called...how to replace?

When I pull the wiper arm off, the shaft that it attaches to is damaged. Here's a photo of the damaged part. The weld is broken where the rust shows, so when the motor turns the shaft, the grooved "head" spins before it catches and moves the wiper arm. I'm wondering what this part is called so I can search for a replacement part. Also, how to replace the piece....what's involved?
