TJ with tracks?

I am new to this forum, and I don't actually have a Jeep yet. My plan is to get a TJ and put tracks on it. It would be a winter only backcountry rig that I would haul around on a flatbed. I would love to talk to anybody that knows something about this. All I know right now is a want a 6cyl and a hard top.

there are a few pictures/examples of Mattracks on TJ's. just be aware, the tracks will probably cost as much or more than the TJ will. figure $12,000 for tracks alone...thats why you don't see them much.

My plan is to go with Dominator tracks from American Track Truck. Still around 10k for the tracks so I will probably be in the project around 20k total. A good value for what I want to do with it because I can pack wife, gear and 2 dogs plus a guest or two into the mountains. With snowmobiles I couldn't do all that and it would cost way more if I could. I will post pics when I get it done!

I would really like to know how those deal with ice. Ive seen them used in the mud and they seem to go decent. Also curious as to how hard it is to swap between tires and these. One doesn't need treds all the time and I can see those getting eat up in no time if used more than in an emergency.
