To lock or not to lock, that is the question

Hey guys, i feel like im kinda spamming the board right now but i have more than one question , weird right? Who would'a guessed...

Anyways, i finished my 8.8 swap in the rear and took it off road, got some real good flex out of it, and when that happend, good ol' limited slip kicked in, and was stuck.... I was wondering if someone could give me their opinions on a front axle swap before i put in lockers, D44 seems like the only one i could find, I think it'd be a waste to throw a locker into a D30 while im running 35's on it? which was why i did the 8.8 swap in the first place...

Lock the D30 or swap it out for something else? Opinions please, Thanks guys

I was planning on going with an 8.8 and high pinion dana 30 up front. 30% stronger than the low pinion because it drives on the stronger side of the pinion, better drivelines angles, keep driveshaft out of the rocks (more than low pinion), truss it, and change the shafts and it will be perfect for 35s and you will still have good ground clearance.

1996-1999 xj cherokee have bigger ujoints like the tj does

The High Pinion 30 is a direct bolt on. And eastcoastgearsupply.com sells a prebuilt ford 8.8 for $700.

so high pinion d30 or d44, i mean, d44 would be able to perform better as far as reliablility goes right? price difference is probably about 3-400 bucks in the end right? locked and all
