toggle radiator fan?

hey i do lot of mudding and i have had some people tell me that it is not good to do this w/ my fan running and that i should put a toggle switch to shut it off while mudding and turn back on for normal use. Does any one have any input on this and where or how would do a toggle switch

Your fan is mechanically driven off the water pump. It's turing whenever the engine is turning. The only way to do what you are talking about is to have an electric fan.
