anywhere on the frame or anything that is solid if you got to put a slip knot in it and wrap it around the bumper
Do the math. Two 4.5K vehicles putting resistance on the tow strap until something gives, hopefully the stuck vehicle becomes unstuck. However, all that force will cinch a knot tighter than a frogs butt, slipknot or other knot. It will be a bitch trying to get it undone. Tow hooks are 10 bucks a pair for a decent set for the front bumper. For the rear, get a receiver shackle or a factory hook from the junkyard. As said before, make your friends have proper recovery points.

Don't trust the bumper. Get hookless straps(so if a strap comes off you don't impale something with a hook). Tell them to put out the $10-30 for tow hooks. If they refuse, you can wrap the strap around the axle or something. If they are real cheap, and have a welder.... tell them to weld chains to various spots of their frame for cheap strap attachments, that way they have that cheap toyota junker off-roader look
P.S. I have 15k straps, and I've put all of the force on them I could and they wont break. There was an idiot in his dad's truck with near bald tires who decided to peel out right next the the water at the lake...... He buried his truck to the point where the front tires weren't visible. So, My friend in his 4-runner used one of my straps to hook up to the guy. The ground under the 4-runner was kinda soft too, So i used my other strap to hook up to my friend, then a land rover showed up and hooked up with his strap the the back of me. we all pulled in 4-Lo, but it wasn't enough. Then a YJ showed up and hooked his winch to the guy in the truck as well. The next pull he was out.
1. Tell your buds to go spend 20 bucks and get some tow hooks.
2. For a front pull with no hooks, you could get by running a properly rated strap through the front tube behind the bumper. However you want to make sure it will not get cut as the force of the pull is applied. Need a longer strap for this, as you will have two ends to hook to the pulling Jeep. Again this is a only if you have to do it location.
