Towing

I have a 2002 TJ sport. I am moving in a few months and i was going to rent a trailer from uhaul. What would be my best choice, because i have heard bad things about towing with a TJ.

Not sure, but I've heard that Uhaul won't rent you a trailer if you have a soft top. You may want to check with them on that. Good luck!

I just towed my softop tj from Houston to Colorado, no probs. Buy magnetic lites for the rear, hook them on your light recpticle lby lyour receiver. Put a good towbar on the jeep, mine boted thru the bumper, get a heavy duty hitch and hoping you're using something much bigger than the jeep you're set. Now turn the switch on the jeep to the first click so the wheels can turn side to side when you do, put the 4x4 drive in neutral and the shifter in any gear, drive, park 2,3,4,5 and you're ready, oh yeah use towing chains criss crossed. 1200 miles no problem. Does look funny in your rear view mirror seeing someone on your tail so close until you realize its the jeep.

The TJ is good for 2000#'s Gross Towing Capacity. Make sure the tail don't wag the dog!!
