track bar help

I cant get the track bar bolt out on the driver side. I've tapped it with a hammer, tried to wiggle it out, sprayed some lubricant around the bolt and cursed at it some. Still nothing, no movement.

Use a long breaker bar on it for more leverage.

I've given it hell but nothing. I have the wheels off though. Is that maybe putting the bolt under more tension and not causing it to move? Should I put the wheels back on and set the jeep on the ground and try again. Or do I just need to man up and get the bolt out?

Try the breaker bar, if that doesn't cut it put a cheater on the breaker bar. If that doesn't work try to see if an impact gun will get in there.

If no dice still, light it up with a torch and breaker it. Use caution though. You don't want to combust the Kroll or Blaster you sprayed all over it

I've got the nut off just can't get the bolt to slide out. I put my 3' crow bar on it and it doesnt move. Can't really get a good hit with a hammer on it good because of its location.

Oh

If it's got a pin, cut it flush. Now put the nut back on and twist the hell out of it to break that dirt and rust up. Then try tapping it out

Did you smack the mount with the hammer instead of the track bar end? That usually frees up the end, as it allows the conical hole to elongate a little bit...

Presuming it was the front track bar

I soaked it with PB Catalyst, tapped it with a hammer and repeated every 10 minutes for about a hour. Then used my floor jack to compress the suspension. I set the end of my crowbar on the top of the bolt with the crowbar perpendicular to the bolt. Then with my dead blow hammer, smacked the hell out of it. I used the crowbar so I could get a good swing at it. I was hard getting a good hit on it where it was located. I am now the proud owner of new front adjustable track bar and JKS disconnects.

I had a time with that, too, but a hammer and a fork popped the ball joint out without damaging the boot for future reference.
