Trail-Tubes rear stinger and tire carrier

I'm looking to buy one of these from TrailTubes for my jeep ( tj ) but it says you have to make your own mounts for it on your jeep to put it on. I was just curious if anyone has this on their jeep or anything like it and if so, how did you mount it up or what did you use? I would appreciate the help, thanks.

I got a message from trail tubes shortly after I ordered it asking If I wanted a free upgrade to 1.75" tubing rather than the 1.5". How cool is that! It should be here this week. I'll post some pics when it comes in.

AtoZ Fab has a wheel mount plate if you haven't found one elsewhere.
Tire Carrier Wheel Mounting Plate, 5-lug patterns

You could use some flat 1/4" tabs like these from Poly Performance
Poly Performance JEEP/TRUCK & BUGGY*::*Fabrication Parts*::*Flat Tabs & Flanges*::*Synergy 2" x 1.5" Flat Tab - 4X4 Off-Road Parts

or these offset tabs from Artec

Here's a teaser shot, I'm planning on using the strap from the poison spyder rear carrier.

I unwraped it yesterday and layed it out on the floor, I just need to make a few tabs and mounting brackets for the tub and I will be ready to start welding.

I made some tabs and welded them to the rear bumper yesterday. Today I notched the bottom of the tubes and welded up the tube with bushings for my lower mounting point. I started mocking it up for the rest of the welding but thats as far as I got today. Here it is with the 40x13.50 - 17 MTRs I will be running once my axle swap is done.

I spent some time on the carrier today, I didnt get near as much done as I wanted too be some progress was made. I figured since I was doing a bunch of work around the rear end I would flush mount my tail lights.

Then I spent way too much time making brackets for the carrier to attach to the tub.

For now it is just bolted to the tub, but before it gets used I will make a bracket that ties it into the cage so there is no stress on the sheet metal of the tub.

looks awesome, noticed you made the tail lights flush with the body instead of sticking out 3 inches for some clearance on those upper mounts. pretty crafty idea. think that's how I might go about it as well, being that it looks badass. what did you use for bushing just like metal sleeves? or did you actually get like bushing with a rubber or poly fitting in it?

Thanks, The bushings and sleeves came with the kit. The only thing that I had to make was the tabs I welded to the rear bumper and the brackets where it mounts to the tub.

Oh alright, that's cool. Diggin the 40 on the back haha. I'm gonna be starting my build (well the lift and some other mods, don't think we really ever stop building em, always have that urge to keep adding things as time goes by haha) here towards the end of november. Got the 35" mtr's for mine, gonna run them until i have the funds to build my axles up because I have a lead foot on the trails. The next set of rubber will be 37's, but man haha those make my 35's sittin in the garage look not so big anymore haha!

Any long term updates on how it is? I'm getting ready to put 1 on my jk with a 42" tire. No worries with the tub, I will have offroad evo corner armor to weld the mounting tab to

i plan on using the tabs from poly performance, but use the poison spyder 3way tire strap to secure the tire to the carrier
