If you don't have the tow package which I am assuming you don't because you need a harness then you will have to splice into them. Will be easy enough to do though, you shouldn't have to cut wires. Make sure the connectors are waterproof, ie. have silicon goop on them, so you don't have electrical problems down the line.

Bought the wiring kit from Quadratec for our 2002 TJ this past summer, I imagine it would be the same on later model jeeps. Simple to install, just pop apart the connectors for each tail light and plug in the tee fittings on the wiring harness kit.

The biggest PIA from the whole install is all the crud that falls on your face as you reach up into the wheel well to access the light. Wear goggles.

That's what I figured I have that clip to the wire connector and not have to cut anything, thanks getting ready to move to Ft Stewart.
