Tranny again and swap ?

Not to be dragging this one out but the ole' 99 TJ, w/ a 4.0 6 cyl and auto 3, is now bucking like a you know what, and at 140k miles, I think the tranny is shot. While a re-build may sound nice, and even workable, I am rapidly thinking that a complete straight swap of the old auto 3 with a replacement 3 is probably the best way to go given the coming fall season up here in Maine. Any idea's or suggestions are more than welcome.

And as a idea that I am working on, anyone have any experience with JASPER' s transmission's ? I am thinking that a JASPER tranny might be the best way to go as far as the straight swap vs time goes. Again, any idea's or comment's, please, don't be bashful.
