Hey all. 02 TJ with 63000 miles and an auto tranny. I've been noticing the past few days when I cold start my Jeep and put it in reverse it's "sluggish" when I step on the gas it's almost like its a manual and I have my foot not releasing the clutch all the way but after like 2 seconds it's fine and when I shift into D everything shifts normally. Any ideas?
Make sure it has the right amount of ATF+3 or ATF+4 in it. To properly check the ATF level, start the engine, let it warm up, shift the transmission through its gears and leave it in Neutral with the engine running and then check the level on the tranny dipstick. See if it smells burnt too. If it smells burnt, and the transmission flushed & filled with ATF+4.
sorry. last time i responded to a Tranny thread the Mods deleted my response
